QUOTE(Darkmist62 @ Dec 22 2004, 05:58 PM)
This trick has nothing to do with modding, rather to do with Dummying. You can find more information at halo.bungie.org, but basically what you do is change your character model to an elite. You need to be on XBL and you need a buddy to drive you. It cannot be splitscreen play. It can be done over system link. You cannot be the host of the custom game. Hop into the warthog passenger seat as an elite, then hold X to get out of the warthog. Press B right when you're about to touch the ground while getting out of the warthog and it will cancel getting out of the warthog. Constantly press B while holding X, you'll see the elite start to get out of the warthog then climbing back in over and over. Tell the person who is hosting the game to tell you when he sees you out of the warthog. Eventually it will look like to him that you are out of the warthog while it looks like to you that you are inside the warthog, he'll even be able to jump in the passengers seat with you. ALl this time you need to constantly be taping the B button. Have him drive off to the persons base, with you in the passenger seat. THen have him grab the flag and throw it at the warthogs passenger seat. Get out of the warthog (DO NOT MOVE!) and pick up the flag. From there you simply need to take a step in any direction and you'll be teleported to where you originally got into the warthog, which is often at your base. That's how it is done.

Well, being that this trick could very well end halo 2 for a lot of people, I would not be sharing it with everyone. Not many know as it is but its starting to get around which is no good.

Just wait a few months and this will be as bad as counterstrike but there wont be shit you can do about it.

Hey. I know of this exploit, but I have seen something pretty crazy in coagulation ctf. None of our team knew how it was done, and it was during a big team battle. The guy must have been doing it every game he played, because he was a level 16 in big team battle (Yeah, what the hell).

It was a one flag game, a few were inside the base, the rest of us were around the base, ontop/outside. Out of nowhere the flag is gone and everyone is looking for it frantically. 15 seconds later, flag captured, round over.

We play our offense round, dont think we capped it... Anyway, final round we all wait in the base, we have one guy below keeping an eye out for a warthog below the base (we thought maybe they grabbed it from below and didnt notice).

Flag taken, no warthog, no enemies in sight. I run to the teleporter, scope and see a warthog coming out of the canyon with warthog carrier in the side seat, driving towards their base.

After the game, the other team leaves all together without a word (they must have all been one party). We all reported the one guy with cheating feedback, if anyone is interested i can look up the stats of the game. You see an arrow of where the flag goes, from inside our base to their canyon directly, less than 1 second (each tick represents a second, only one tick)

bungie sayd that when sum1 gets negetive feedback they will look at the game and were the flag traveled. i dont no if they really DO it but they can very easily see that the flag jumped from the base 2 the canyon in 1 second.

and penix, what happend 2 u is wut people r calling dummying or warthog trick. and it only takes 30 seconds 2 settup. it can be stoped by killing the warthog, or killing the guy that is being the ghost or dummy(im not positive that u can but u should b able 2).

/\ Exactly.

And about this getting as bad as CS, I highly doubt it.  They'll get this fixed.  I'll bet on it.

wall hacks and such... maybe they dummied the guy, then had him somehow get on top of a banshee and they dropped him through the roof, where he grabbed, moved and teleported back to his spot... thatd be a nice capture, though cheating...

Hey guys here are the screenshots, I dont have the link to the game but if anyone is interested ill look for it again (bungie.net stats are acting up again so i cant see the list of games).

^This is the most confusing one, because it looks like he grabbed the flag from that spot on the canyons. I've seen stats of a game where people used the dummy trick, and it looked more like their other round on offense-

See how the flag jerked over to that spot?

The banshee idea was a good theory, but nearly impossible to pull off. Our team was stumped, the other team all left right away.

its really cool how bungie has those kinda pix of every game. in the first pic, u can see the arrows that r longer mean they took a warthog. that wus the dummy trick right there. but in the second pic, i have no idea wut that is.

iamcheese - stfu. please give me a reasonable idea y telling bungie about these glitches would delay the dl content... wuts ur gamer tag? u proly use these glitches.

I dunno man, that is very puzzling considering they didn't have a warthog or anything at your base.

the first picture glitche I have had happen to me a couple times.  One of those levels was ivory tower where there are no vehicles so I think that is a different glitche entirely.  No it wasn't the standby.
