Was Halo 2 Overhyped, And Not Worth It?

yeah I like halo 2 don't get me wrong, i didn't get what bungie said we were going to get and that is the only disapointment. but the first person game still has much to offer. online only games are judged by online play. non online games are judged by there quality, and games with both are judge by what they bring to all with compatible consoles/pc's first and then if that scores bad they say "but ATLEAST the online game brings something new to online gaming" which means game falls short by a margine but the online features help from flopping. this is not nescessarilly about halo 2 but all games.

Also, not to be a D1CK, but from your comment you bought halo: ce. i wasn't online compatible, unless you have a modded box. was it worth buying? maybe you maight consider games that aren't online compatible. some are better than you think. online gets repeatative and old to me. its the same characters killing eachother over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.

but anyone that is familure with programming sees how simple halo 2 is. it is a less polygon, better shaded version of halo 1 with similar maps and a few new maps. add a minimal amount of new vehicals and few new weapons

this here shows how unfamiliar you are with game programming...

*either that or you didnt notice all the 'little things' in halo2... which you would if you knew about game programing, so i take that back...

Just a stupid thought....but MAYBE they took forEVER to release Halo2 because they wanted to be closer to completing Halo3 at the time or release?  The ending definitely sets things up for a Halo3 and they need to hurry up with it.  My only gripe is that the game was WAY too short.

you make a very good point here, especially since we are just over one year away from the xenon, and (most likely) halo3 (or whatever) will be released with the system when it comes out. This allows people one year to get over it be excited for a new system, and a new great game that will definately be like a NEW, different game because of the xenon's abilities.
