i think they could have made halo 2 multiplayer better but halo (and halo 2) is, in my opinion the best multiplayer game(16 players)

very true dude and let me say some words of great wisdom as well. the halo games bring a great story as well as good multiplayer and in my minds eye the reason the first one was so successful was then no other game companies where putting team manned vehicles in fps's i mean it was unheard of,but the warthog i truly believe was the single piece of gameplay that attracted me to that game as well as countless others.but in teh end all the halo games where to me is a well rounded game,a game with good campaign(which has co-op not many games do),as well as very good mp.

Halo2 is shit, thats all there is to say about it. Halo original is much better, but as far as FPS games go, halo is nothing more than a run of the mill game, there are worse and there are certainly much better games.

To me, it was overhyped but still worth it.  It's fun on kai and xbc.

What do you mean by this exactly?

The MP is a bit repetetive, I will say that.

Obviosly the bulk of you dont play on LiVE.

I was disappointed when i was handed a copy of the leak around a month back... wasnt 100% impressed, but now that i've played it on live and on a huge lan (we had 15 xboxes here last nite) it shows that its a great games.

not many other games offer a nearly lagless experience on live, but this ones does.

and the tracking on bungie.net is unreal.... you can even get a graphical representation of every one of your games online.

It is BY FAR the BEST online multiplayer game i have ever played. I've played blenty of PC multiplayer(farcry, Doom3, Battlefield....), but  felt like quite a loser sitting in front of a monitor alone in my room playing games... PS2 offers nothing anywhere near comparable.

so get off your ass and dont bitch till you've tried it all. its "ok" on kai and xbc, but you really havent played this game till u play on live.

speaking of which i have a clanmatch planned.

I've played on LIVE plenty.

The game, while lagless sometimes, lags horribly others.

The gameplay is still very repetetive, whether you play on LIVE or not.

PC games have been offering the same thing for 5 years.

There's not much new, its just more public than anything previously.

It hyped up as much as possible, a total saturation bombing of hype.  it didn't live up to it, imo.  i don't think any game could live up to that kind of hype.

hmmmm.....well, live play is pretty fun, but it's hard to say.  I kinda regret paying $50 for it.  Live is a lot of fun though.

are you just a console junkie, and have never been exposed to the other side of gaming. (PC)

You make it sound like this is a bad thing.  Yeah, i'm a console junky, always have been always will be.  but i won't argue over what is better.  you get certain kinds of games and a certain kind of feel in a console that you don't get with a PC and vice versa.
I've played through some games on my pc and it wasn't right.  just the way i was raised, i suppose

Halo 2 was too short.

Finished it in less than 12 hours of play (approximately)

But it was a fun game none the less.

The game definitely did not live up to the hype.  Not to give anything away...but the ending in the single player campaign...enraged me.  Three years for this?!!

While I am sure many of you will wax on about the incredible multiplayer benefits and the addtion of playing the game on Live, but consider this:

Wouldn't you have been just as well served with a Halo Expansion Pack with new multiplayer maps and Live support?

Because Gents...this is exactly what you got.

Halo was a GREAT game not only because of the multiplayer experience, but because the single player campaign was engrossing, well written, and something that a lot of other games could only aspire to...

This..."Halo 2"...appears (at least to me, before the personal attacks begin...), to be nothing more than a MS attempt to further entrench it's Xbox Live program into gaming.

Not worth the $59.99 I spent on the game.

As a result of this I will be highly suspcious of the inevitable "Halo 3" when it arrives...

(Note:  Was it just my Xbox or did anyone else have a problem with "layering" of textures during cut scenes?  The game would cut to scene and for like the first second or so...I literally watched the textures applied?!  This is unforgivable in a game in development this long....)

Halo 2 is way better than the first one, the single player campaign is much more exciting and intense, plus the way they tell the story is much more ahead of anything Halo 1 did.
I don't understand all these people that say they loved Halo 1 but don't like Halo2, that just sounds crazy to me...I don't know, maybe it's because bungie took away your god pistol.  The riffle is a much better alternative anyway. I will agree that the game is too short though, but I'm replaying it now on Heroic and I'm about half way through, and it's a much better experience on the harder difficulty levels.

As far as multiplayer, I can't get enough of it on XBLive, I never had bothered to purchase live before, but this game came with a free two month trial, so I gave it a shot, and wow...perfect, I think I'll probably keep my subscription after the two months is up just because of how much fun it is.
