No, it lifts your legs up so they dont hit the edge of what you are trying to hop onto.

This is the same concept as crouching right before you hit the ground, in halo 1, to absorb some of the shock, which would significantly reduce the fall damage. Those who were good at mp halo 1 new about this as well as cruching at the hight of a jump to get up to higher places. Unfortunately, without any fall damage in halo 2 mp, there is no need to do this crouching when falling........had to make it more noob friendly.

Halo 2, the hell with it. Where is my halo 1.5.
