Halo 2 is a breeze of fresh air for me. I wasnt very good at it and if they kept Halo 2 the same Id rather not pay it onlne seeing as to how there are people who devoted their life to Halo 1, Id never get a kill because frankly I have a life outside Halo and cant sepnd every second of my living life perfecting every damn skill in Halo hence I can say I suck at Halo. I admire Bungie for taking out the uber powerful pistol and dont like the idea of having my AR taken away but everyone has opinions and likes and dislikes. I can surely say Halo 1 will not be missed and am just hoping or glithces and mods to be done to Halo 2. True Halo 2 is more n00b friendly and I hear many of the "HALO GODS" complaining on the other boards, but I say this to them. Overall Halo 2 lived up to my expectations and then some. Cant say anything about graphics as I still use an old 20 inch TV with basic connections but Im satisfied as one of my frined still uses an RF adapter with an uber old 18 inch or so TV. Props to Bungie on a good game. My vote goes to Halo 2. Hope they have smaller downloadable maps as some are way too big for me and my bro to play in offline.

I totally agree wit you too. Nicely put..... jester.gif

Way more balanced this time and more variety in campaign. Glad the pistol is so weak because that weapon was way too strong in the first game. Xbox Live is a huge plus.

I almost look at Halo 2 as a new game apart from Halo 1.  I feel like they look similar, and handle similar, but I still feel like I'm playing a different game...that kicks a$$.  I do believe people are getting better.  People are starting to learn what weapons to dual wield and I also noticed that many don't pick up the sword even when it's plainly available.  Guess it's respect for noobs since that's their best bet for kills.

Woohoo, 400 posts and I've been here so long.  I forgot my original name/password or I woulda shown membership since late 02, that, and I was pretty inactive for a while.

Halo 2 is a different game... other wise it would be halo expansion pack 2... hahaha... or halo reloaded.... i like both and say they both have great aspects that add to the game... whine if you want... play if you want... don't matter to me... it's not like i'll have a hard time finding someone to play on live... hahaha

Well, i just finished playing it for 6 hours straight, and all i can say is i ahve a nasty headache. Dont get me wrong, i love the game, but those damn 60hz TVs are really annoying. Might have 2 save up and buy a high-def. Anyway, ye i like the game, but like alot of people have already said, there are some points that could be better. My main problems with the game are: the no fall damage, and the way that i had to play as that elite for a whole level.

Overall, Halo = 9.5/10,
           Halo 2 = 9.5/10

So the same.

Somebody may have mentioned it already, but I didn't feel like reading every single post to see it;  there are melee combos.  I found it out by accident last night.  If you press B, Y, B(practicing a bit to get the timing down) you get a great two hit combo, one with each weapon.

Anyway, my vote goes to Halo 2.  The single player game moves faster, and the multiplayer is much better IMO.

SPOILER/

Where did you fall playing as arbiter? The first time you played as him? If you fall to places in which you can walk around, you dont die, but if you fall to depths you die, also I think you die if you have no shields and you fall.

***Possible Spoilers*****

Nope.  You know that last level where you are flying the bashees and covering the Scarab?  I was playing co-op and I died right before you fly up to the door that the Scarab blows open.  I couldn't respawn because my friend was flying.  So he tried to set down for a second so I could spawn but it still said the area was unsafe.  So he set me up on the ledge where you start.   Well, I didn't have any way down other than to run around the entire level on foot or find another Banshee (didn't see one) so my friend said, "Just jump, you'll live."  So I jumped down and died when I hit the ground.

******* possible spoiler ********

During the last fight of the game, I jumped off the level where the "boss" was fighting (the head brute or whatever he was), and I died when I hit the ground. It wasn't that far. If you've played that far you can figure out what I'm talking about.

As a whole I think Halo 2 is better.

But I liked Halo 1's campaign better, mainly because I really didn't like the swapping of storylines between the Covenant and the Humans in Halo 2.  I'd much rather if they had focused mainly on the Humans struggle to keep their planet safe (and I wished the game was mainly on Earth, since that's what I was expecting).

There is somewhat of a fall damage in campaign mode in halo 2.  If you fall too far, when you hit the ground it will kill you, but as far as just knocking off some power, no.  In multiplayer no matter how far i fall there is no fall damage.

The classic pistol i thought was my all time greatest weapon when it came to only 5 head shots.

It only took 3 head shots to kill someone.  You must not have been that good with the pistol, were you.
