I refuse to believe any words about no system link co-op 'till I try it myself, and like someone else said... you need 2 xboxs linked together to try it, if it still doesn't work then it isn't in there.

everyone who has tried it is getting the 2 players on 1 xbox message because there is no link and it's trying to launch splitscreen instead... I mean why the hell would the co-op option be in the system link menu?

also another thing, if you go to www.xbox.com.au there's an ad on the left side of the page which suggests there IS system link over Live.

This OXM bloke is full of crap, probably not even from the OXM team!

Of course not, that's bloody stupid. And Bungie are not bloody stupid.

I have to say that having a Co-op menu item (that is nothing more than a shortcut) in the system link menu makes me rethink that.  What is it doing there?  Maybe something they took out at the last minute?  For such a big game, it's kind of rookie to have the menu be so misleading and have an unrelated item stuck in there.  Who needs a shortcut anyway, the main screen is a level up

Let's be honest here... when Halo 1 came out for the PC, a lot of people were super pissed that they didn't make a LAN co-op that the Xbox version lacked. Anyways, the developers of the PC version said not to count it out in the future... it hasn't happened yet, and it probably never will.  If MS cared enough, they would have put in the effort and money to have the porting company add it.  If there is no Halo 2 LAN/XBL co-op at launch, don't count on it ever happening since they already have your $$$.

One thing a lot of people are forgetting... Bungie is only Bungie in name... they're just a division of MS and no longer the creative company they once were.

Furthermore, if Bungie hadn't sold out, I'd probably be playing Halo 2 on my mac and PC as we speak (granted it would probably be quite a bit different).

I heard another misleading thing is that when you choose co op, there is the option for four players to come in, but it only allows two.  For instance you get the same menu as you do for split screen.   unsure.gif

Yeah, thats true. But it only allows 2 people to join.

Re-read your post, and see how rude and fanboyish you appear. No matter how loudly you shout "THERE IS!" and cover your ears, it will not change the facts.

We have all methodically tested the system-link options and currently are unable to test Xbox Live's; There is a lot of confusion, even at MS's PR companies, apparently, about L!ve co-op, as even the creators have said in various chat-sessions they are leaving it out.

Right now you're sounding like a 13-year-old Nintendo fan; we have tested it, you have not. We can understand the English in the menus, telling us it is impossible.

That being said, this version seems very... unpolished. It's possible the leaked French version is not 100% complete. However, that doesn't mean something as awe-inspiring as a co-op mode is going to appear with minus a month to go and with the disk already gone gold.

If you were Bungie, and you knew that you wanted to put co-op System Link in, would you force each person to have 2 players on each screen, minimum, for it to work?

Of course not, that's bloody stupid. And Bungie are not bloody stupid.

This doesn't mean Xbox Live co-op is impossible, though; Full Spectrum Warrior chose to only go the Xbox-Live route. There have been several rumors that the co-op in Live is not Campaign though, but a seperate mini-mission "Invade the Base!" style-thing.

oh dude you registered to say that?
please don't call me a nintendo fanboy, that's quite offensive... i'm a Sega fanboy.

Anyway you say you've tested co-op, and I know others have, they have said this right here in this thread... but I haven't heard anyone say "yes I tested syslink co-op with 2 xboxs connected", and there's a chance people could be experiencing these errors because they don't have a link.

i'm saying MAYBE!

there's a lot of conflict here, one one hang we have people saying syslink co-op doesn't work, and on the other hand we have an official ad which is STRONGLY suggesting LIVE! co-op, and we know the co-op option is in the syslink menu.

so excuse me for wanting to investigate a little further you rude fuck  rolleyes.gif

Jizzlobber, let me explain it to you as simple as I can through STORY TIME! YAY!:

halo 2 - HI! I'm HALO 2!!!

xbox 1 - HI HALO 2!! I'm an Xbox!

xbox 2 - Oh hi Xbox! I'm another xbox that is connected to you through system link!

xbox 1 - oh joy! now we can play coop mode and link up at the same time!

halo 2 - excuse me guys, but I only can play coop mode split screen on one xbox... and only up to two players at that.

xbox 1 - oh well, what about xbox live?

halo 2 - sorry, can't do that either

xbox 2 - well, I read on some random website that you can do coop on system link.

halo 2 - no I can't

xbox 1 - well damn, I don't believe you! Come on xbox 2, let's try to get this coop thing to work through link up. I want it to work, so I think it will.

halo 2 - uh guys, seriously, sorry to mislead you in letting you select coop mode while in the system link category, but I tried to explain it to you clearly "coop mode requires two players on a single screen and on a single xbox"

xbox 2 - what the hell halo 2? Why are you trying to confuse the shit out of me? You think you are funny?!

halo 2 - sorry, if you don't like it, go play something else that is coop and link up, like SERIOUS SAM!

xbox 2 - come on xbox 1, let's go play Serious Sam coop and link up...stupid Halo 2...

------------------------------------------THE END------------------------------------------

p.s.  If anyone still doesn't understand that there is no coop through system link, I can perform a puppet show to further explain this. Also, I own 3 xboxes...NO SYSTEM LINK + COOP

conflicting reports, yes?

You can play as either covenant or master chief online and multiplayer. So technically that is right, but not in the sense that you're thinkin. Owned. Ok so anyways there is no system link co-op campaign mode. Just get it out of your minds.
