Halo 2 System Link Co-op
« on: October 21, 2004, 05:49:00 PM »

I have heard talk about halo 2 supporting system link campaign co-op.  Has there been any definent word as to whether or not?

Does halo2 support 720p, i have heard just 480p, and am probably guessing just the latter.

And last but not least, does halo 2 support complete button and analog stick reassignment for us gifted lefties, instead of just a few pre-determined setups.

Just curious,

Foe-

i have 2 answers for ur questions.

1.yes there is multi-player co-op in online play and its even in sys link.catch is tho its not 1 per xbox the host and(i am not sure about the people who join his game)but the host has to have 2 players on his xbox.

2.the only button setups they have are the predetermined ones for the lefy( i my self am a lefty but just learn to play with what they give u man)

Thanks for the reply.

What i am referring to for system link co-op is in campaign mode, not multi-player.

And that sucks if there is no button reconfiguration (pissed me off in halo 1); why do so many console games not allow this?  It does not make any damn sense.  Every computer game i have played has this option.  Do they think that us console gamers are so stupid that having the option to reconfigure the buttons would confuse us and send us into a state of panic?  Damnit!

Yes, for you right handers anyway.

But, why not allow some kind of expert button reconfig option,  And those who do not wish to use it use the pre-config setups?  With halo 1, i have to switch the analog stick so i can use my left thumb to do the looking, but when i use the "south paw" set up, bungie forgot to switch the zoom with it, so now the analog stick that moves MC, is the one that zooms in.  I'm constantly accidently zooming in when in a heated battle.  Pain in the ass.

I also cant stand the fact that it wont do horizontal split screen when 16:9.  Only for 4:3.  Widescreen only has vertical split and its the gayest thing ive ever seen.

720p = No (that shouldn't be a big surprise)

480p + Widescreen = Yes

Co-Op Via System Link = Yes (not sure about Live nor am I sure how many can join - at least 1, I'm sure of that much).

For Xbox Live, one person per Xbox can do co-op campaigning.

For system link, it is possible as well, but you need more than one on each Xbox.

BTW.. you noticed I editted your above post, which I did by accident. Hit the wrong button. Sorry, but your whole post as it was, was left untouched.

Ok, so system link co-op campaign, but has to have 2 people on 1 screen?  Is this to say that syslink co-op is atleast 4 player?  If so, man...that's cool, but I wish you didn't have to go splitscreen.

I don't think there is any distinction between Co-op on Live or System Link with regards to # of players per Xbox (there is no such restriction to multiplayer - they are the same and this just doesn't make sense).  As far as how many can play at once in total and the number on each Xbox...I don't know.  It might only be 2.
