I never really enjoyed halflife... and i did not think the second was a real nail biting wait. HALO 2 no matter how good any game is will kick its sorry a$$ back to the programers. What can i say halo 1 revolutionized the industry if halo 2 is 2x better then well there will never be a need to buy another game! unless they flop it which i dun thinx they will. wink.gif

I'll go for Half-Life 2, it's magic.
But I guess I'll get Halo 2 as well.

No comparison here.

Half-Life 2 by ten -fold.

Disadvantages of Halo 2 are that first of all its on Xbox.  Its limited to a lot by just being on Xbox.  Graphics, Controls, Envorniment, and lack of a new engine.  Xbox can only take so much.  It's only a 733MHz and a Geforce3 based card.   PC games are just -more thorough and more defining.

Besides all that, Halo and I'm assuming from the movies I saw, Halo 2 are good ol' shootin' purple alien fun.

While that might be appealing to some, I'd much rather stick to HL2.  Halo 2 will have its moments, I'll give you that.  But no way in hell it'll live up to or let alone be in the same category as Half-Life 2.

I can tell by just reading all of your responses that you aren't PC Gamers at heart.  I started as one.  Half-Life redefined the FPS genre as we know it and PC gaming for that matter.  I suspect Half-Life 2 will have a similar impact.

Just my two cents.

wink.gif  (Is there any doubt).

Sure HL2 looks cool, but no one actually knows how this game would feel gameplay-wise.

We all know how Halo feels, and we've seen some extremely heart pounding gameplay from Halo 2.

But I think we can all agree that both these games will kick some serious ass!  pop.gif

I can tell by just reading all of your responses that you aren't PC Gamers at heart.  I started as one.

...and I always have been a console gamer.  A mouse and keyboard has never satisfied me as being "game controllers", and because of that, and all the fuss that used to come with device configurations and high system requirements, PC gaming has never caught on with me.  The only thing that made me envious of PC gamers, were the 1st Person games like Quake and Half-Life, and the role-playing games like Diablo and Baldur's Gate.

Which is probably why Halo 2 is more interesting to me than Half-Life 2.   Half-Life 2 looks amazing with all of the physics and interactive environments that are going to be incorporated into the game, and I will be definitely purchasing the game when it comes out.

However, Halo was a much more memorable experience for me as a gamer.  Playing that game with a friend of mine cooperatively for the first time was a blissful moment that I haven't had since I played Contra on the Super Nintendo, or Gunstar Heroes on the Genesis.   Knowing that Halo 2 will be more of this, with different weapons, environments, and enemies, makes me very excited.

Besides, the Xbox IS a game console.  I would assume that most of the gamers here are "console" gamers. smile.gif

You mean pc "fanboy" at heart. laugh.gif

And, while the xbox can't even come close to compare to what the pc has to offer in specs, remember, you can't compare the xbox specs to a pc's straight across.  The big advantages the xbox has, is: NO OVERHEAD, that means no windows operating system to screw with, and there is no compatibility issues the developers have to worry about; they can squeeze everything out of the xbox.
