I think they will both be great but I just don't see a way HL2 can compete with halo 2. With Halo 1s success, I don't think a developer like bungie could be outdone.

i still think that Half life 2 is going to be better than Halo2.

their both going to be good, but i think half life 2 is going to be better.

Well no tough decision for me, HL2 all the way, gotta say Halp was pretty good when i first played it but it soon got very repetitive, where as HL just got better and better!
Halo did not revolutionize FPS, HL did! and half of the voters in here that have plumped for Halo 2 havent even played HL so its unfair to say halo kicks its ass!
Hell i even enjoyed Riddick far more than halo.
Its a bit like the good old arguments of FPS games, PC or console?
Im looking forward to both games but halo 2 more for its multiplayer as theres no way it will match HL2 for the single player experience in my opinion!

I would say they are about the same for me now.......
I played original Half-Life, and still play it sometimes, reminds me the old days. HL revolutionized how FPS games should be done and is probably the best shooter ever, so the sequel is definitely a must buy for me......
On the other hand - Halo, one of those best  that defined the word Xbox, and left PS2 and Gamecube wiping their bleeding faces after the impact of Halo. The long avaited sequel is definitely a mustbuy  too.....
Plus don't forget that the big daddy of them all - Doom III is coming.....oh yeah......
Since I hope Halo 2 will come out earlier, I will pick it up before HL2, but won't stop playing it of course.

HL 2 will defenatly kick Halo 2 to the curb and back. But I will be playing it on my PC rather than the XBox.
