^The point I'm trying to make is that these independent game developers are charging the same amount as corporate devs, which is nuts. Independent devs are usually 5-10 years behind the current technology. So why charge the same as the more technologically advanced games on the market?

I would take some interest in this game if it was being sold for $5.00, but to charge the same as the big boys is a slap in the face.

First, let me explain that an idea also can costs money. Do people not realize how hard it is to come with an original game these days (not the 500th sport-game)?

you have got to be a moron to think Alien Hominid is an original idea and is innovative... its a fucking flash based side scroller... should have been priced at $20 at most...

it might be a fun game, but there is abs nothing special about it... not groundbreaking, not original, not innovative... so all you people claiming its about gameplay rather than graphics dont have a leg to stand on in this case as AH does nothing new...

It is true that Alien Hominid is nothing new, nor is it groundbreaking. It's simply a departure from the average Xbox library. Xbox along with all the consoles this generation are lacking 2d side scroller games. Hell, they are lacking 2d games all together. It's simply a breath of fresh air to play something different sometimes. Same thing when Viewtiful Joe was released for the Gamecube. It wasn't super innovative or groundbreaking. It was just a change from the games that were currently on the system. In the wake of tons of 3d action games and 1st person shooters, some people want to play different stuff. I myself don't play 3d games all the time. When I get bored, I find myself going back and playing emu's because it's a game style that is harder and harder to find now. Alien Hominid is simply a game from a genre that is well lacking on Xbox. Just because it's not pushing the xbox hardware to the brink or super innovative, that still doesn't mean it shouldn't be made. It is STILL all about the gameplay.

How is a sidescroller about game play? Maybe that was the thang ten years ago, when that's all we knew. But as gamers we moved on, evolved. Gameplay today is about strategy and team coordination, which is a lot more complex and challenging than repetitive 2D scrollin.

Hey, I'm not knockin the devs for reviving sidescrollin action, I just think the money their charging for the game is ridiculous, and an insult to a modern gamers intelligence.

how many sidescrollers are out anymore...
personaly they are the best games ever...
simple but fun, it would be great if we could get a
side scroller wiht all of todays graphical goodness
a side scroller that is 3d and full of amazing effects...
but everyone is sooo hooked on FPS and these run of the mill game types
we wont ever see that happen.
and dont get me wrong i love me a good fps or 3rd person shooter...but i miss the side scrollers...its a lost art...
thats one of the reasons this game looks so damn good
anyways think what you want i got it...and its damn hard and damn fun

and imo its one of the best games ever.
