its more of a gimick then anything else IMO.  if there was an actual useful benefit from this then that would be great, but it seems more convenient to just look at the rectagle in the middle of the top screen then to look outside of the entire TV in a tiny PSP screen with lower resolution.

there is always RRRiiiiiddddggggee   RRaaaacceeeerr!!!!!   jester.gif

Are my eyes deceiving me or are there reflections on the tyres in that first pics linked there? If those are in game shots, there's something not right there. Shiny tires you could see your face in? Hmm...  dry.gif

Integrating a screen onto the VMU nearly killed the VMU because it was so expensive.
*game show "fail" music*
Sorry, Charlie, but you'll have to try again next week!

I think it's you who fail... video game history 101... the DC's VMU's retailed for $25 almost half of what Memory Unit's cost today and significantly less then the price of the PS2's memory cards at it's launch... by the time Xbox and Gamecube came out you could get them new for $15. 3rd party units were even cheaper.

"so expensive" BAH! did you even own a Dreamcast?  dry.gif

The VMU was IMO one of the best features ever implimented on a console. You could transfer gamesaves from one VMU to another without a console at all. Games included mini games that you could play on it ouside of a console. And the screen added gameplay elements that you can't get with any other control type. I'd like to see you try to play a card came through local multiplayer... you can't because everyone could see everyone elses cards. Lots of other cool uses too, picking your plays out for sports games etc...

While this F1 game looks well .. nice. I have very little expectations from it.
IMHO the last DECENT F1 game was GP4 (im also a F1 fan). The whole arcadish crap the consoles have seen has just been utter rubbish. Geoff Crammond seems to be the only dude alive who knows what it takes to make a good F1 simulator.
I guess since sony have the F1 rights we wont ever see another F1 game from him??? He's working on some stunt racing game now (whatever it is its sure to be dam good)

those are in game shots kiddies

can you people not see tha massive jaggies in the background ?
are you too spanking it to notice the square edges tires ?

those are nice shots but are you so busy hating anything non xbox to remember that those are replays and replays look way better than realtime in game footage ?????????

remember how bloody good the replays looked in the original Gran Turismo ?  the game didnt look that good thats for sure but the replays sure did

get a grip people  and go watch some replays of PGR 3 and notice how bloody damned good those look.
what about the ingame screen shots of GT 3/4 ??  remember how unearthly good those looked ?   the game sure as hell didnt look that good did it ?  no   but the screen shots did.. and thats all these are.. ingame single frame screen shots.

EXACTLY! Couldnt've put it better myself.

As for the PSP rear view mirror thing, I own a PSP, and it sounds like a good idea to me! In real life, a driver has to look away from the road for a split second to see who's behind him, and with the rear view mirrors on screen, you don't even have to look away. I can drive and check what's behind me at the same time using the onscreen mirror, but in real life when i'm driving, i take my eyes off what's infront. It's all about making games more real.

i didnt know it was physically possible to focus on two objects at once  rolleyes.gif

the games look and feel real enough for me when i have to focus up to the rearview mirror, or better yet just move my head in the game (in car view) to look at the physical mirror actually rendered in the game, runnin in actual high def.

that may not be "real" enough for you but give me actual details in the game rather then a gimick to make me happy
