So the PlayStation 3, as we just learned, is launching as two different SKUs. Since many of you have asked, and just as many of you have tipped us to the press release, here are the differences between the "base" and "premium" version of the console.
* You lose 40GB (20GB base vs. 60GB)
* You lose HDMI output
* You lose MemoryStick / SD / CompactFlash slots
* You lose 802.11 b/g wireless
* You save $100
We are not sure how upgradeable the base model is going to be. The extra $100 is looking good to us. It's kind of strange how Sony did an about-face on the multiple SKU model, but we guess it has something to do with that $
well you could go either ways here, if you guys plan on getting a really nice quality HDTV, HDMI will beuseful but if not owell.
The 40GB is something that would be a little more important if you ask me,
The Memory stick expansion would be good for you but you can buy that as a acessory.(most likely gonna be upwards of $40 anyway.
Wireless feature is conveinet if you plan on moving into Nicks room
You save 100... more like a 120 with TAx but the acessorys could total up as more than the extra $100
Flat out i would recomend the 60GB SKU because when $ONY anounces the price of acsessory the 40Gb SKu may very well turn in to the "TARD PAK" so go with the extra 100 dollars you will find it usefull in the future.
