G:\ Drive Missing In Evox Etc.
« on: April 17, 2004, 02:25:00 AM »

Here's the deal: I've got my games, emulators, programs, music etc. on drive F:\. I've got a Samsung SP80 160 GB (7200 rpm, 8 MB cache) and the problem is that I'd like to move stuff to G:\ from F:\, but G:\ doesnt' show up in Evox. Neither does it show when using Boxplorer, Dvd2Xbox or Xbmc. Why the heck does this happen?
I've added the lines to evox.ini ("Install G:\ drive" or something like that appeared in the menu) and done the installing. Evox.ini shows that G: is enabled, and the bios is patched to support LBA48 etc. major stuff.

So what could be the problem? I don't think it's nothing that big because, after all, FlashFXP recognizes G: and lets me put files in there, so everything's fine there. But why on earth doesn't it show up in Xbox itself? If it showed up, I could easily move stuff from F: to G: with Boxplorer for instance.

Oh, the bios is Evox M7 and Evox is build 3935.

Thank you for your assistance.

well boXplorer needs to be patched too, have you done that? also g needs to be enabled in XBMC ini file, im not sure about the Evo X bit though, have you tried copying something there with flash fxp and adding a link to it in your ini file? or is that what you are saying you did?
i hope this helps

Thanks for a swift reply. I got a file to which is meant to upgrade Boxplorer, but the header is .ppf (never heard), whole file name is boxplorer-g.ppf (2 kilobytes). What should I do with it?
What comes to Xbmc, I checked the main .xml, and it was already modified to support G:\.

I put some data to G: and made a link to .ini but nothing shows up. Damn.

Did you go into the System Settings and specify "Use G:"

Yes, I've done that. Everything should be done, but still no good.. it's quite awkward because even if I move my mp3s to G: with FlashFXP, I can't play them 'cause Xbmc can't find, doesn't show etc. the drive. Damn.

I've done everything like was told in "Gain Additional Gb's Without Losing Data, For Converting to LBA48 with > 137GB" -topic, but no good.

There must be a solution, but I guess I'll use G: to store stuff to use with my pc (a laptop, only 30 GB hard disk so those 20 gigs in G: will come in handy), because G: can be accessed via ftp. Not such a bad idea?

But it's true that the problem won't be solved that way.
