Ps3 Or 360
« on: October 27, 2005, 10:01:00 PM »

well i've pretty much asumed up untill now that i would get the 360, based on games. I haven't bene able to find any good way of comparing tech specs on the 2 systems, info on what games are coming out keeps changing, and posts like this on forums are always filled with fanboys, so picking a system seems like its all up to luck. so far iv picked 360 based on 3 things and they are live, halo, and my dislike of boomerangs. but iv been tempted by some tings, like bluray. what do u guys think. please unbiast posts only, as im tired of having to sift thru pages of fanboys going "xbox 360 rocks" and "ps3 will rape xbox 1.5" so if your gonna post a favorite back up y u like it.

No fanboying? See the following: http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Pipe_dream

I'll buy both, because both the PS2 and Xbox both had some really great titles.  Same goes for the PSOne and N64. Both had some really great titles.

So, I've never been much or a "tech/spec" guy.  The PSOne vs. N64 gen was like apples and oranges on the hardware level, but they both had kick-ass games.  I bought a Dreamcast for the same reason.

I'm waiting to see more of the Revolution, but that's the first system since... maybe the Saturn (which I eventually bought to chip for imports) that hasn't been a must-buy for me.

Fanboys fight over numbers.  Number of polygons, number of scanlines, number of times of AA, number or clock cycles.

Numbers have one meaning for me: Number of games that I want to play. Now that Sega is a software-only dev and the Revolution is a waiting game, I need both a 360 and a PS3 to play all the games that have me interested.

i will have to buy both systems, and when revolution comes out i will most likely buy that one too. Its all about the games to me. I couldnt care less about pixel rate and all that jazz. I will say tho that i think the ps3 controller looks a little akward from the pics ive seen, but the way i look at it, until a person has had both systems and taken equal time to analyze their qualities/defects, you really cannot tell which is the better system. Sure sony may have the higher processor power, or maybe xbox does, but either way its all in how they utilize it.

the only teck spec that i was really thinking would matter is the rumors iv heard about the blu ray drive only being 1x, and with the no hdd, load times will probbably be pretty long.

By the time the PS3 releases in the U.S., Sony will surely have more advance Blu-Ray drives to put in their consoles. But 1x Blue-Rays should be the same as a higher speed DVD.

Im getting x360 for sure since nextgen is a week away...maybe ps3 will be stronger but its like waiting to buy a computer...ill wait 2 years later because the processor and ram and whatever will be faster... i think that x360 offers enough power to run the games i want in awsome resolution (hi-def) i don't really care that ps3 has blu-ray since im not buying my gaming console for video...also, being that x360 is a week away and blu-ray like 1/ 1/2 to two years....im going with x360

I'm just going to buy all three consoles as they are released. From there I will then make my mind up based on which I use the most. Even then I'll still play on all of them. I play on my GC, Xbox and PS2 loads but I know the xbox is much better than PS2 and GC but then again my favorite console is the GC. Work that one out. lol

yeah you should buy both, it's the only way to truly make your mind about which is better. i was going to buy both until i heard they are sticking with that double dildo controller

first of all im not rich, and i bet most people are the same as me on this one, buying both is not an option.  That would be about $1000  and maybe more adding games and controllers.  I have never been a sony fan and have never owned one of there consoles, but i have been thinking of waiting for ps3 with all the reports of xbox 360 being only a slight improvement to xbox.  Anypne think those reports are true or is that just people expecting way to much.

you are misinformed if you think that the 360 is only slightly better than the xbox bcause it's not it's a whole lot better there's a greater jump ps1 to ps2. also both systems are basically the same performance wise it all comes done to what games you prefer
