Moore's Words Of Wisdom About Mgs4

the trailer is really impressive stuff, and i believe it is the real deal.  but who cares.  the game isn't going to look like that.  remember back to all of the other MGS trailers.  they all looked amazing, and were in fact done on the real PS/PS2 hardware. actual gameplay didn't come close because you can't play a game with fixed cameras.  this will be just like before.  the difference with MS is that they have been showing almost entirely in-game screens and demos.  there hasn't been one developer to make a comparable length, non-playable demo for the 360.  it really would have helped MS if they had.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the MGS4 trailer or the "plug" for the Cell..

Anyone who's ever played an MGS game knows that they like to break the 4th wall and add in funny references to things in the real world. The Cell reference was on par with any MGS trailer or game demo. I wouldn't be surprised to find stuff like that in the actual game once it comes out.

The line at the end "It will be worth the wait" is what I think Moore was referring to as a sign of weakness. I think the only thing Sony fears from MS right now is the fact that they're launching first, which wouldn't be so bad if they were lining themselves up for a strong launch as well (typically the first console to launch in a particular generation has a weak launch).

The cell reference was on par for MGS and the "worth the wait" comment simply shows that Sony is somewhat worried about launching 2nd.

Moore was simply pointing that out, though the fact that he felt he NEEDED to point it out might also be a sign of weakness. Worried that people might take the comment to heart and turning it from "yeah it WILL be worth the wait" to "he's right that WAS a sign of weakness". Both companies have their necks out and are equally worried about the other.

As for the comment deftones compared earlier claiming they are both childish. One contained 2 facts followed by a rational confusion as to the other company's "vision". The other company compared themselves to a wise instructor and the competitor as a student who things they know better.

In that case MS said "I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish" to which I can fully agree because I thought the very same thing when I first read the PS3 specs. "Who has 2 HDTVs?" and "Aside from SOME sports games who needs 7 controllers?" How was either of those useful, I would rather a lower price point then those two frivolous features. For all intents and purposes KK called MS a "n00b" with his comment. hardly comparable comments.

My only problem with MGS4 was that they decided to make Snake an old man with a porno mustache. Will not getting caught while hacking up a lung be part of the game? ...and If you do get caught can you use your colostomy bag as a weapon?

tongue.gif) but the whole going into "its the key to winning the console war" and the whole killzone and ducks thing they showed after was a little distasteful IMO but whatever.......not enough to entice me to buy a ps3..........rev and 360 for me for now! biggrin.gif

Wait it's TGS and Sony can't release a trailer without being lashed against? It's part of the usual cycle of promotion you create hype early (just like xbox 360 did although there's was more subtle) and then you will have a better launch. What did you expect them to do? Just not release any information until when it's released? Then you would nag them saying they are trying to keep everything secret and hush hush because they have something to hide. They are putting there balls on the table and all you do is blow hot air in there general direction. Your all xbox fan girls I will get my xbox 360 but I can agree that is a fucking badass video clip and shows the true sign who has the best system power wise.

Moore has a point here, and all these "trailers" Sony has been releasing sure makes it seem as a sign of worry on Sony's behalf.

So the Xbox 360 is my first choice and the Revolution is my second choice.

MGS4, God of War 2, and FFXIII are not good enough to sway me over to the PS3.
So far, it looks like a console geared for sequels....

i think mgs4 will end up with snake having a heat attack or something.
i think all this back and forth between the two systems is pointless. i hate sony, but they are doing a good job once again. they are shifting attention away from the up coming console. if i was sony i would be doing the same things. sony doesnt care about us games that want to know about the real facts. they are after the people who dont know any better. thye are going to see the pics and think its in game. sony is doing such a great job right now. i give them a A+ in marketing so far. i think once 360 is out and people are playing the games its going to be really hard for them to keep up. right now for most people all they know is the pics and vids they see.

sonys goal: to get people to think it will be worth the year wait for ps3.

Yes and snake being 50 years old i hate that!! Snake never aged as for as i could see between 2 and 3 so why make him age in 4? It's depressing lol how can a man that sick and old do what he did in that trailer? I guess since this is the last Metal gear for those who don't know can read here http://news.gamingho...13540.2331.html or use google to search. I guess he is just going to phuck it all up!!
