I don't think that Sony is doing good by buffing up the PS3 to make it more like a computer (with the whole Linux thing). I want a video game console, not another computer.

Yeah maybe for you there wont be anything better, but for ALOT of people the PS3 in games will kill the 360, just because of some of the types of games The Playstation has and Xbox doesn't, im mainly looking forward to the RPG's that will be released for it, and you say Halo 3 and Kotor 3 are going to make it better? for you maybe, for me i HATE halo its the worst game on xbox, and Kotor was terrible game too.
The fact that PS3 has HDMI output makes me happy meaning I wont have 5 more wires to add in there.

i can't think of one good playstation RPG (final fantasy is probably the best out of them all, but they need to stop making final fantasy games) There isn't one game that is good on the PS2 that isnt on the Xbox. Killzone sucks(it tried to beat halo and failed) God of War sucked (it tried to beat Ninja Gaiden and failed) while Xbox just randomly one day happend to release a game called Forza Motorsport out of the blue and it completelty annihalated Gran Turismo 4(GT4 was highly anticipated for 2-3 years). Metal Gear Solid sucks because of the crappy camera angle, all the Anime RPG's suck because they are all the same.

They're all the same, trust me, final fantasy sucked, and breath of fire came out on the GBA so it sucked. Those are the only two i have heard of. All the rest obviously sucked cuz PS2 desperately loves anime RPG's and wanted to make dozens of them that are all the same and look the same.

you think they all look the same first your wrong, and secondly is looks everything, no, story and gameplay is, looks mean crap if the game sucks. which none of these do.

if you say the game play is all that counts then all of them are the same then, they are all either turn based RPGs or Hack-n-Slash RPGs

Battle systems are not the large part of the game, most people enjoy Turn-based RPG because it requires stratigy, most of the games have amazing stories for people to follow and play through basicly what role-playing-games are all about.

its confirmed to be HDMI 1.3  an article on tom's hardware at the CES revealed that the demo units being used were hooked up using component cables because HDMI 1.3 was not available at the time of the show.  look around at tomshardware.com, im sure you will find your confirmation there.

will the ps3 be able to run on a hdtv red, blue, and green cables?

I heard the it can run on hdmi, vga, dvi, and av. But i havent heard anything on regular r,b,and g cables

Will I buy a ps3? Sure. Will I have one on release? Doubt it. Unless they come out with a really strong relase line up, I don't see that happening.

You'll need to revise this statement now.

The 'basic' PS3 doesn't 1nclude HDMI output. BIG mistake for Sony if you ask me.

If you bought a 360 core package when it was released, you can at least purchase a HDD to bring it in line with the premium. Not so for the PS3. Not only is their no HDMI, but no 802.11b/g wireless. An awful lot to ask for a 400GBP price tag.

As for good RPGs - have you not seen Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion for the 360?

I highly doubt Grandia 1 came out on the ps2.  It was an original Saturn game, and i never heard that it was redone on the ps2.  

Also Grandia 2 came out on the DC first, and was later ported to the ps2 (of which was not nearly as good of a game as the first one was).

Every week i see more things that persuade me to not even touch a PS3

All the games (graphics) are very disappointing considering that last year Sony made fun of every other console for not being as "good" as they were. Now look at E306, very dissappointing in my opinion. The graphics are no where near what they said they were going to be, the price is way to high, and it seems that everything that Sony does is copying either the Nintendo Wii or the Xbox 360.

Piss on Sony and there "wonderful" PS3
