I didn't mean to start a shit storm here, folks. My apologies to all.
I am not interested in providing info/tools to people who want to cheat in online games.
I only wanted to share what I've learned about R63 - which is not much and probably already published elsewhere. What I have learned about it and the information I'd like to share, I did on my own. I did not leech it from someone else and try to claim it as my own. I would give credit to any source if I used it.
I've visited numerous game portal sites and read lots of posts by pissed-off gamers who got dicked over by some cheaters.
I will say that if there are game hosts out there who do not take precautions and preventive measures, then they are opening themselves up to exploits. Just as systems admins, IT pros, webmasters, etc. must protect systems exposed to the public internet, so must game hosts. It is not my intention to provide exploits for online-hosted games.
Rainbow Six 3 uses the UnReal engine. It can and should be customized to prevent cheats for online/server games. From my perspective, customizing an Unreal package to remove the cheats and console commands seems like a basic step in game hosting administration. If I were to host a game, I would lock down the engine and packages.
It looks like it may have been a bad idea for me to post my meager findings here, since it appears to have irked both those who like to cheat in onlne games and those who play the online games and are pissed off at the cheaters.
