Router Port Bandwith Allocation

i have a DI-624 router and i need to allocate more bandwith to a single port in order to be able to play online games.  does anyone know how to do this?

you can if you build your own router tho. normal pc + linux routing distro, but i doubt you'll be wanting to go that route, so the answer is no.

Well since these devices are just small PCs running a version of Unix this is entirely possible.

I know with my Linksys I can do this exact thing after hacking my router with an open source firmware. I can allocate how much traffic each port can have. So all I would have to do is throttle the amount of bandwidth all other ports can use.

But you have a D-link and I don't know what kind of hacking community ( if any ) is working on that brand. I would suggest going to google.com

poop! i thought this would be easy.  i turned off the wireless radio and that allows me to play without lag, but then people using other computers get angry.
