I'm looking at getting a 250 Gb SATA HDD, and I found these at new egg for a pretty good price. I've never really used Hitachi hard drives before, but I do rembering alot of people having nightmares about them. I'm wondering if this is really the good hard drive it looks like or if it's really just a complete peice of trash. Any thoughts?

I remember other people having problems with them too, but so far I've used a couple and they all have been perfect.

They are great for PC. They have TCQ or tagged command queing, for faster allocation table lookup. Good seek times too. Hitatchi is IBM sort of.

Thanks for the input, I went ahead and bought it along with a silent 500 watt power supply. Should be alot of fun once it gets shipped in. We'll see how long it takes me to fill it up.

I have only had one Hitatchi ( a 7,200RPM w/ 8mb 60gig laptop drive ) and so far I love it. It made my laptop fly once I replaced my 5,400RPM drive.

Are you guys talking about using it in a pc or xbox? How do they do in xbox's? I'm thinking about getting one for my xbox.
