Hsf Cooling For P4 3.0ghz
« on: December 27, 2004, 12:55:00 PM »

I'm running a P4 3.0Ghz cpu at 44.0 Celsius. I was wondering if that was too high? Can someone give me an idea at what temperature my cpu should sit comfortably in.

I also am planning on getting a HSF cooling setup for this processor. SiSoftware Sandra is saying that a fan on my main board is not running or running too slow and I am assuming this is my cpu's fan. I looked in my case and the fan seemed to be running fine, so i guess it's running too slow? Also, there is no fan speed control either.

I've heard a lot of praise about the XP-90 heatsink with a fan... i appreciate your replies.

Yeah, I would like to know to.  I recently built my machine with a 3.4 with the stock heat sink and fan and its running at 55 and some times even 60. I have saw it at 65  before. could some one tell me what a good operation temp is.

Go with a Zalman cooler...their products run very cold and very quiet.
