Heres what freesafety13 told me:

the file you edit is default.xbe make sure you put a backup of it on your pc before you edit it. and make sure you CLEARLY label it as your backup to PSO so before you go online you can replace the hacked default.xbe with the original default.xbe. also before any of the hacks will work you also need to put a copy of the file 4d53004a onto your pc and CLEARLY mark it as the 4d53004a backup, than erase this file from your xbox. it can be found in the TDATA file. make sure you replace this file before you play online again or you will get banned. if you have never played online before you will not have this file because you download it the first time you connect to the PSO server.
Humar
004120f8(weapon)
00412114(armor)

and so on. i suggest printed that section if you can it would make it alot easier to do if you must know the original mag bytes they are

0200 0500 f401 0000 0000 0000 ffff ffff 1200 0028

just replace this with

023d 0059 ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff 07ff

and that will give you a Pushan with max everything level 1308

Is there a reason why, when I try to modify the values as the above describes, the I can not find the hex values for a HUmar's weapon (004120f8) for example or mag (00412130) in the default .xbe file?

Please see link for example of what I mean "Link"

the pushan bytes are the

023d 00___you can replace this with any mag you choose

the 59 is the photonblasts the mag will have.  i'm still working on the different combinations and how to figure out the bytes and i think i'm getting pretty close.  it's something like you have to use binary code for the value of each photonblast than add them together starting with the third, than the second, than the first.  but you still have to follow the rules you would have if the mag was legit.  meaning no two of the same photonblasts and it has to be makeable without hacking.  but for now i prefer the photonblasts it has with it because they're the 3 most powerful attack blasts.

the ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff ffff 07ffis the value of each stat along with the IQ. Synchro and and the 07 just activates all three photonblasts so they're usable.

i wish i could remember exactly where each stat is but i would have to open my hex editor to figure it out.  but i do know the 5th and 6th set of ffff is just fillers that have no impact on stats

I've seen mags online with 1308(Or more I think) all stats is that possible with this?

thats what the ffff do.  they are the bytes for a max stat mag.  one thing to remember though, with a mag over level 200 you cannot find rares so they are good for leveling purposes only

edit

the level max is 1308 not the stats themselves.  in hex there is no value greater than FF for a byte and the game is hardcoded to 1308 for its level.  one thing you could try is putting ffff on just one stat and see if it will make that stat 1308, it might work.  a 1308 POW mag hmmm interesting

Well, back when I used to play online I acquired a couple mags that had every stat as 1308. No one has any idea how they did that? ph34r.gif

you must be mistaken, the game is hardcoded at 1308, because in hexadecimal there is no value greater than FF so the only way to have a stat at 1308 is if all the other stats have 00 the lowest possible value in hexadecimal.

I tryed that and the mag turned out to be level 327 with one stat of 327 nothing more nothing less it was wierd. I'll see if I was right about that tomarrow when my friend and I go back on PSO he still has some leftover mags.

then that just confirms that the highest value that hex supports is FF and that in game represents 327.  thus 327x4=1308 the max level a mag can be

no no no ... the reason why the max level can only equal 1308

the stats of each mag, is a Signed WORD (or 16-bit value)   (eg, FFFF) (2 hex digits)
a signed value means that the whole values are balenced
heres a lil chart that might explain it more clearly

MIN-------MID------MAX    (position)
8000------0000----7FFF     (Hex Digits)
-32768------0-----32767    (Numerical Values)

so that max of each stat is 7FFF  ... but the actual value is divided by 64h  (or 100)
so  32767, would actually equal 327.67
(during the calculation of the mag levels, anything past the decimal point is ignored
Its only used in the filling of the bars of each stat)

so.. the max values would be 327 * 4 = 1308

the value goes thru a check.. to make sure the value doesnt drop down below 0000...
if it does, it replaces the value with 0000

all the values enter are reversed....   so 7FFF... would be written as FF7F   and  8000 would be 0080

SIGNED WORDs (Signed 16-bit digit)

......-2.....-1.....0.......1......2.....
.....FFFE FFFF 0000 0001 0002.....

==Quick Chart==
0A is actually 10
10 is actually 16
14 is actually 20
64 is actually 100
C8 is actually 200
FF is actually 255
FFFF is actually 65535
FFFF FFFF is actually 4294967295
