To edit the files you need to transfer them to pc and back to xbox so you would need to have them copied to the hdd

PSO doesn't take 6 1/2 gigs.  An alternative is much more difficult.  Extract the PSO Disk using Qwix.  Edit/patch the XBE or whatever file you want.  Create the disk back using Qwix.  Burn it and load up PSO.  Now if you want to change or make a different weapon you're need to do it again.  Even with a stock 10 or 8 Gig HD you should be able to fit PSO on the E Drive.

Better to get a new HD anyways.  They're dirt cheap now nowadays.  It's well worth it especially for the emulators and XBMC.

I used to have two hard drive.  One for XBOX Live and the other is for emulators and XBMC.  Leave the top of your XBOX off and just swap between the two.  Unbannable.

is there any way to copy the files directly from the PSO disk unto your computer without it being on the HDD first.  there has to be a program that recognizes the PSO files on the disk out there somewhere, that way I, and everyone else out there could edit the hex files just like we were modding for a pc game.

there are a few ways to start hacking this game...

1. copy the PSO disc to your xbox' HD, then edit the files as needed
or
2. copy the PSO disc files to your computer's HD, edit however you want, run modded disc
or
3. install the XDK dashboard, insert PSO disc and run, and use the memory editor

BTW, Evox' debug mode wont work with this game, it stops at the part where it loads the gamertags
