Hacking PSO is for solely offline play only. You'll still need your gamertag tho (or a fake gamertag i guess), but yeh... if you copy anything to your harddrive, whilest you won't be able to use live features you can still play the game

What many people do for instance (I assume) is used a hacked version on the harddrive and make all their items and stuff, play it and get them, and then, remove the hacked version (save remains) and use the legit version (from DVD).

By hacked version, I meant the version you hack yourself (whilest the game's on the harddrive, using the stuff you posted). Just rip the game to the harddrive, do whatever hacks you want (I think theres a load on xbox-saves.com) then play the modded version you just made. Do what you want, save the character (preferably a new character, then trade to your proper character later), quit the game, and run the proper one, etc. You might need to clear the cache, but that shouldn't be too difficult.
