Screen Flickers
« on: May 02, 2004, 01:52:00 AM »

today my screen started flickering. it's not that bad that i can't see anything but it's annoying.
i changed the graphicsdriver, the videocard and even installed windows to see if my linux desktop is the problem. nothing helps. there are no magnetic inteferences near the screen exept my mobile phone. but that didn't do anything bad before.
so someone has an idea what i can do?

Did you OC your card? If not, check if anything metal fell inside of your monitor. That could also be the case.

i did but it happens with another card too.
there can't be anything fallen in. it's strange because now the flickering is gone but it comes back once in a while

Moved to the PC Support Forum.  You'll probably have better luck there.

thanks! was meant to be there.

put my mobile phone in another room but it still flickers and when i ring it while it is on my desk the flickering doesn't change at all.
the monitor runs at 85 hz which was enough until now.
and to all that my isp is bugging me  this is a nice week

i'm happy about every other suggestion

I've got a similar problem, my screen randomly flickers bright blue on occasions.  It's not a solid color but more transparent,  I can still see text etc but with a blue haze :)

The problem is due to me trying to force my monitor into the socket a few months ago when I had too many smokes (it was upside down when I tried to force it in).  After realizing my error I checked the pins and a few were bent :(

Check your Monitor pins/cable and replace if you’re not happy with them.

the problem is my wireless mouse. today i noticed the flickering starts as soon as i move the mouse.
guess i have to put some kind of shielding in it.

thanks for all your help
