Cut Controller Wire

Ok, so i am on PSO right now, i am talking to this lunitic who says that there is an easier, yet more convenient way to get a keyboard, here: Sopposedely you cut the wire or, some wire on your xbox controller, so that it is compatable without the Keyboard adapter...can someone help me i am so stuck on this, wondering and wondering.

The principal is the same just depends on which ends you join.

(Note I mentioned splicing an xbox extension cable, not the controller cable itself. Why chop up my controller when I don't have to?)

I just added a usb port on my controller. My keyboard plugs into the second memory card slot, and all is well.
