Hex Editing The Morrowind.xbe

Hi, i was wondering if this is the same for all the regions i have a pal version and according to the video and save game hex edit posts it is the aussie pal version.

And would it be possible to tell the files that come after the z:\ because i really dont like flying blind smile.gif

more like
change de Z:/ in z:/saves to d:/ and not the one with z:/FullMap

or something

sorry, I have been away for a while, And i forgot to make this clear This method only works on the US Game of The Year version, Nothing else. and for the classic non-GOTY version, it is possible to get mods to work, but most of the time they will crash your game. as for hex editing any version, as it was this way for both US versions, Look through and replace the Z:\'s with \data files\ after them EX: "Z:\data files\'something'" becomes "D:\data files\'something'" , If id dosn't have Data files fter it, dont change it.

send me a pm if your still confused, i don't check game hacking very often.

ok,  just like to ask a simple question I have not seen addressed
when hex editing the morrowind.xbe file,.   why change the Z:\ to D????   i know that the reason for hex editing is to tell morrowind.xbe where too look for these new mod files,
but is the D directory usually your default directory where morrowind is installed too?   i backed up my disc onto the F partition,  so my game is actually in  F:\Games\Morrowind game of the year\
so Do i need to change the Z's too F's?  instead?  and if not please make it clear to me?
one more question,  I have tracked down as many tuts as I could,  all printed off,  but it eludes me still , do  you still have to remove dependancies and all that crap with the TESDTK with the mods before u put them in the right folders to use if you used the hex editing method?  or is using the TESDTK for the merging procedure or something?
thanx for the help anyone

I think morrowind uses D for the game directory, im not too sure about that, but I use the f partition also and D works just fine, i wouldnt worry about that too much... also, if your using alot of mods with dependencies, then theres a few ways to deal with that... you can use a tool to get rid of the dependencies on all your mods, or you can use the lazy method and make a blank esp file (just download a small esp and use a tool to get rid of everything but the header, then rename it to Bloodmoon.esm, make a copy of it, then rename that one to Tribunal.esm, after that, copy the two files to the data files dir and you dont have to remove any more dependencies!)

Just to clear this up, When changing it to D:\, the game sees "D:\" as "wherever the game is"

Either that or it sees D as Booting from a HDD instead of DVD

1: Hex Editors Screwed
2: The file somehow got corrupted to an unreadable state.

Have you tried retransfering it, and what hex editor are you using?

Yes, I retransferred the file, and it still doesn't do anything. The Hex editor I'm using is XVI32 (The one the tutorial says to use)

You can't use your save to put dragons on morrowind...

Anyone who wants an easily hex edited Morrowind.xbe, download the Morrowind Xbox Compatibility Pack at http://hosted.filefront.com/lesaras/.

Inside, I've included a PPF patch for the morrowind.xbe. (NTSC GOTY)

What is the point of doing this?

I've gotten PC mods to work, but I've been converting them.

I followed this guide and it didn't work.  I was trying to use the Creeper Gold mod but his gold didn't change at all.  I hex edited the xbe and reuploaded it and also have the creeper_gold.esm in the folder (with no dependencies) with the Morrowind.esm file.  Am I doing something wrong here or does the mod just not work with the xbox?
