I have gotten it to work on normal, with no more effort than it takes for game of the year. Just drop it in there.

When hexing your xbe, follow the tutorial for the game of the year version, there's a point where the turorial will say search for the next Z:\, but there isn't anymore, Just save here and ignore the rest, should work.

and also, in my opinion, esm's just screw it up, use it in esp format. and almost every mod will screw up in regular morrowind wether they are dependant on the expansion or not, better bodies does work 100% tho, i know this from experience.
