When you did the search for Z's, did you type "Z:" or "Z"?

It's important that you type "Z:" because then it'll look for both Z as well as the : (colon) right next to each other. Also, make sure that the Insert key in your computer is not pressed(particularly the laptops).

Make sure that the bottom of the edit says "override" and not "insert".  laugh.gif

I had both those issues at first, but it worked just fine afterwards. Some of the mods are large and the cache folder just doesn't have enough room to hold them all after the game's own file dump(I think it takes up 4??MB out of 7??MB. Leaving something less than 3??MB to work with. You need the perma method!) beerchug.gif

So through a bit more searching it turns out that the NTSC instructions aren't correct for my version of morrowind.  I read through a couple old threads here and I seem to have found the right places to edit.  Cleared out my cache and the mods all loaded from the morrowind image off the HD.  

I ended up swapping Z:\ for D:\ for:

Z:\
Z:\Data Files\ MonthstoRespawn
Z:\Data Files\%s
Z:\Data Files\Morrowind.bsa|TryArchiveFirst
Z:\Data Files\Meshes

IIRC these are the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th times that "Z:\" occurs in the file.  Reiteration: this is the Aussie PAL version, so it's probably different from most other people's, but I thought I'd post my solution in case someone else came along with the same problem. smile.gif

Game loads.  Mods load.  Things seem to work....
....
....
....
until I try to leave the mages guild  uhh.gif  The loading screen comes up, reaches full, and then the xbox just stops responding.  I'm not sure what's going wonky now.  I have the teleport mod loaded, so the next step is to try teleporting out of the mages guild, but I'd rather not have the game freeze whenever I try to leave a building...  sad.gif

Any ideas?

So upon further testing, I can teleport out of the mages guild to Caldera.  I can also exit/enter buildings in Caldera without any noticable problems.  

Teleporting back to Balmora results in a freeze.  Teleporting back into the mages guild sometimes works, sometimes gives me a DDE, sometimes freezes.  I CAN teleport into the Hlaala manor and then exit into the city.  I can enter/exit other shops.  Attempting to enter the Mages guild either gives me a DDE, freezes, or a 3rd even wierder alternative.  

It loaded up the mages guild but the NPC standing next to the entrance was "fragmented" meaning when she was in my field of view, the whole screen would be obstructed with a wacky "modern art"-esque arrangement of polygons.  Great for tripping I guess... bad for effectively playing Morrowind.   blink.gif

Next step is probably to try Mages Guilds in other cities and the Fighters guild in Balmora to see if I get any similar type problems.  Will probably also try teleporting to the larger cities to see if they load or if they give any errors.  I'm also going to take a look at the mods I'm running and see if anything is an inordinately large size, but here's the current mod list:

Am I running too many?  I figured the only ones with extensive modifications were the Visual Pack, BB and BH.   The rest are pretty minor items/tweaks with few meshes/textures.  From what other people seem to be running, I don't think I've gone way overboard or anything...

Does anyone know of any specific conflicts with any of these mods?  Can anyone recommend a plan of action or any further testing I could do to identify the problem?

Try removing the Visual Pack... When I had it on, it messed up my game a lot for some reason...

So I got all that installed... fired up the game... things were going great.  Ran around Caldera and did a couple quests.  Then I teleported to the Balmora mages guild... still no problems.  Ran around the guild taking care of business and then I tried to exit into Balmora and BAM!  Game freezes.  So I'm going to play around some more.  If it's a regular occurence I might have to scale back.  I think BB would be the first thing I remove, but I really do like having it in there after all. smile.gif  Otherwise though things were running very smoothly.
