Memory Usage, What Takes More?

Did it add anything new to the outdoor portion of Balmora? I had that issue with Balmora University when I first tried it.

The xbox only has 64 mb of memory, so it can only cache 64 mb of stuff.  So if you install a mod that takes 20 mb of space, it is gonna cause issues when the mod is used in game.  Those 20 mb of files have to load into memory for the mod to work, but morrowind needs most of the memory for itself.  So the best way I can say this, is take out most of your mods.  23 is ridiculous.  I have problems with 5 mods, hell even one, because you really only have a couple of mb to work with.  It changes, depending on where you are in the game physically.  A small cell, i.e. a house, would allow you to have a few mods loaded up, but go to vivec, and you are screwed.  Remember, even if your mod is only 1k, it can still be referencing several mb of stuff.

Just thought I'd clarify something.  Before I started a new game with those mods loaded I did around 3 hours of play testing with the character I already had been playing with before I started modding.  So the 3 hours I mentioned in the first post was not the 3 hours mentioned in my first reply.  Just thought I'd clarify that for the sake of thoroughness.  Indeed, it did dawn on me that the reason why those mods were probably working so well was because I wasn't playing as a moogle.  But that still doesn't account for how good they worked before adding only 12 meshes and how bad they worked after....

Ok, it's been a few days and no one's responded.  I'd just like to remind everyone that the original question I was asking was "What part of a plugin takes the most out of the xbox's limited memory?"  So far, that question hasn't been answered.  Doesn't ANYONE know anything about it?  Surely someone must know.

Ok, well then, let me idiot proof my explanation.  The mod doesn't necessarily have certain parts that take up more memory.  If you install a mod with lots of textures, that will take up more memory, if you install a mod with several new meshes but using stock textures, then the meshes will eat more.  Or if you install a mod that adds sounds those will eat up more.  Some basic computer knowledge would have answered your question.  How much memory is used depends on how much memory each thing requires.  Common sense.  So, from this, you can conclude that there is no real way to determine the ONE thing that takes the most memory.  As a texture can be 3k or 1mb.

Nothing takes priority really.  Textures don't even technically need to exist, you can get the dreaded /!\ and still pick up and use the item technically.  But that isn't what you mean, really, nothing takes priority, the way the game works is that it loads the textures and meshes for everything in a cell at once, so as long as you aren't putting too much into a cell, then you are ok.  Which is why you were having problems going outside, much more memory used for more stuff cached.

Ahhh, so nothing takes priority huh?  Now I understand.  Here I was trying to reprogram the loading assuming that there was a priority.  Explains why nothing I did worked.  Now I can correct my code.  If this works, I should be able to load many more plugins than before without any problems.  Thanks Shadowfall, you've been more help than you can imagine.
