Hi,

Can anyone please tell me how to edit the Xbe file for the pal version of morrowind?  I have tried every method mentioned in the hacking articles of this section and have not gotten anywhere with them.

any help with this would be greatly appreciated as i would love to be able to use Enchanted Editor with my character.

Do you have it copied to your xbox or running from the disc?

hi guys, it's the original PAL Morrowind game not the GOTY Edition and it is running off my HDD.

the original's XBE file is different to the GOTY's XBE file, so maybe thats why ur havin problems

Original PAL Morrowind GOTY Default.xbe:
They did some funny things with this build, let me know if this works!

Video Skip Hack:
At offset 14410 (384Ah) you should find 74 27 C6 05 1F. Replace these 5 bytes with E9 36 01 00 00 (long jump over both videos).

The signature checking stuff seems to be strangely enough at exactly the same location, so I'll just repost the original No Signature checking hack:
At offset 27258 (6A7Ah) you should see 75 16. Change this to EB 16. Calculated signatures no longer need to match the saved signature, so hacked savegames can be loaded from the main menu!

Does this value mach the hex values in the original Morrowind?  I dont have the GOTY edition, i would like to get it but cant seem to find it anywhere.

dave, try this method if you can't get the hex editing to work:

hex editing is not necessary, the xbox is much simpler, to remove the first to video sequences, that make it take forever to get to the game menu, just goto data files / video and delete mwlogo.bik and bethesdalogo.bik... xbox will jump right past them straight to menu

Make sure that you backup both files on your pc before you delete them from your xbox so in case it doesn't work, you can always ftp them back.

sorry guys i did try and reply earlier but the server kept sending an sql erroro report parge back or something like that and it's beggining to P*** me off a bit.

Thanks for the help on Xbe hacking, i have removed the video files and it now works fine which is good because i'm not very patient at the best of times.

I am a little disapointed that i cant modify the XBE file to allow any save but i am not too bothered now to be honest because i have downloaded some of the mods for morrowind from johny evil and morrowind summit which make the game play experience oh so better, breathing a new lease of life into an old game.
