Ok, I got it. I'll test it first to make sure it works and then it'll be up on the site.

Ok, when I try to load existing NIFs, I keep getting different AttributeErrors. It seems like it has a very low tolerance for problems. Anyone here know Python that feels like taking a look at the plugin?

Ok, I have to learn to read the README first. Here's an excerpt:

Limitations:
At the moment the script only loads the pure geometry data, some material info, and the first texture fond on every mesh.
This should normally match the base texture, but the file format allows for 'unordered' textures, so some models might import badly.
Also, the script doesn't import animation, particle effects, multiple UV channels.... the list is too long. Working on it.
That little 'a' after the version number means: do not expect any support whatsoever. I might give you some, but for all purposes, try and act as if I didn't exist.

This is apparently the cause of the errors. Looks like we may have to wait a while yet. I'll post the importer/exporter anyways, in case someone can get it working.

Same type of errors for the Milkshape one too. Looks like there's only one person that actually works on these, and he already said he's running out of ideas.

QUOTE
Does it have the capability to extract bitmap images from an existing ess file? I was thinking that if there's a way to re-map the textures from an ess to Morrowind.esm, you might be able to use it as your base for building new models or reskinning exsting items.

Just a thought...

Hmm, I'll have to check that out. Never know till you try, right?
