ok found out what was going on, a few noob mistakes of course, but still a little lost mainly because a simple small armor mod is giving me some DD errors...

well i searched armor mods just to find some mods that will make the game not totally different, just something to spice it up, found a 3mb armor mod called Holy King Armor, from morrowind summit....

now my dvd drive is partion D:

my y: partion is where the lone morrowind.bsa file is at....

now i took it upon myself just to add the morrowind.esm and esm.map files to the y:\Data Files, after taking them from the dvd

then i unzipped the armor mod to desktop changed the dependency to the current morrowind.esm from the disc, and also changed it to a esm file.

the game runs smooth found the scroll to start the small quest, and then when i get to Vos, where the quest sends me, i can usually last a minute in the town and then bam DD error....

so i thought hey just keep it in esp format, and well that still gave the DD error, the game is reading the mod right, my inventory still has the scroll in it i can still find the add NPC etc, but Vos is still killing it....

now when you told me about the xbe file, i could only find it on the dvd, so i extracted it, edited it and then now i have no idea where to put it....

i put it in my y:\datafiles folder and then threw files manager of my xbox i press the file and it runs the game, since its like the exe of a pc, but i still get the DD error when in vos whether esp or esm format...

now the quest really isnt important to me, just the armor, anyway if the mod just refuses to work to just give me the armor via savehack?

I read the post title and thought, "What the hell does he mean by hair scratching?  Textures, meshes, I don't get it!"  Lol.

smile.gif

second my game isnt burned to the HD still running it off the disc...

and yea in the game i take it you have to kill a unicorn, that mesh is 8mb, because the armor mesh is less than a 1mb.

but thanks a bunch for your help, kinda was thinking it was the mesh size...

on a last note is there any way to downsize the meshes? via tes editor (i do have the pc version of morrowind)

thanks again for your help

yea my wife just created a snow elf after finding it online etc...

now she is all into this modding thing lol more than me at times....

although another question, would installing morrowind to my xbox hd give me a better chance for mod compatibility?

and have you ever tried any town expansion mods like, balmora expansion or vivec expansion? the game doesnt crash instead it just doesnt load the mod...

also will having to many esp/esm in the data file stop the loading of new ones, ie is there a limit the xbox will load?
