Odd. When I rest in Caius Cosades' house, the game freezes after the "8 hour" bar fills up, needing a hard reboot of the system. Not when saving, or simply waiting out in the street for 8 hours.

Weird. More experimenting.

That's happened to me when I didn't even have modded Xbox.  So, it may not even be the mods.
