Should I Bother?
« on: March 10, 2005, 10:14:00 PM »

You going to read a lot of crap about people getting mods to work and what not. Believe what you want but I'm telling you now and I'll save you the trouble and tell you that none of the PC mods will work on the X-box at all. I have been at this for over 5 days and have gone through over 50 mods now and not one of them has worked. I also can ahnd you about 5 tutorials that I have obtained from here that are absolute garbage and tell you a whole lot of nothing.
Here is just one example of what I''m talking about.
Someone said that the TIMESTAMP THING in the Morrowind.ini needs to be changed to 1 (It was something like that) Anyway I can tell you that I have very very carefully read over the Morrowind.ini file 3 times real slow, and there is nothing anywhere in the ini file that mentions or has the word time or stamp anywhere in it.

And this is just a small thing there are about 16 different things like this said by people. As I said already, Believe what you want, but I can tell you first hand that everyone who says they got mods to work don't have any clue about what they are talking about.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I figure that I would tell you all this and save you a bunch of aggravation and one huge headache.

Regards,

To answer your first post, coming from a modder, I think you should just go out and buy the pc version of the game. Its like 19 bucks at EB and you will need the construction set to make mods anyway. I'd also go to the elderscrolls forums and read up on stuff from the construction set forum if you are interested in making mods.

Oh... and don't listen to all of the speculation posts about xbox modding... especially stuff from that 15 page thread. You can find what you need to know by reading the smaller threads that SOMEHOW got bumped down. Granted there is alot of garbage that will have you weed through now, and it took me forever to figure it out but it is there.
