this might be off-topic, but i used to have problems using an EZFA linker, where my OS wouldn't recognize it on some of my pc's, but got tired of only being able to have a couple games on it, and when i traded in my SP for a Micro, the cable wouldn't even connect to the GBA so i was up a creek. Well, i just bought a GBA Super Card, which is a 'shell' gba cartridge in which you put a compact flash or SD memory card in, instead of having it embedded in the cart. the result is being able to stick a 1GB SD cart (had one lying around) into the SuperCard and then being able to put hundreds of games on it!!!!! very happy indeed. and you don't have to worry about weird drivers because you just use a regular card reader, which WinXP already has the drivers for. the best part is that these cards are about $50 including shipping (just bought mine on ebay).
i highly recommend this route, because memory is so much flipping cheaper when buying a SD or CF card. Plus, a 256kb EZFA cart is actually just a 32MB cart.....the numbers can be misleading if you don't know your bits and bytes:-)
