And as someone pointed out earlier in this thread Resident Evil 4 is perhaps the greatest game ive played and it blows other biggies like Halo 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 out of the water. Im not being biased as i own all 3 mentioned above but resident evil 4 is the only game of recent years that actually lives up to the hype. I was quite let down by Halo 2 to be honest.
Roll on Mario Kart revolution and Supermario 12!!

Well, I love tinkering with my Xbox and bending it to my will, but I also love gaming and love my cube. These very forums are filled with people that aren't gamers, or for whom gaming comes a distant second to being a hardware whore.
The Gamecube is a pure gaming machine and up until recently has not being as easily exploited as Xbox and PS2, so it will not appeal to these types of people.

Nintendo is for kiddies? I think caring about image over content is for kiddies. When you get older, you tend to care less what people think and just get on with enjoying the differences that other hardware can bring to the table.

As for these design examples, the round shape is highly impractical and it looks like a waffle-iron. I don't think they will go for such a Star Wars retro look. Fake.

I agree with you here. People are starting to lose sight of what these consoles main purpose are. To play games and innovate the gaming industry. And unfortunately some people are starting to worry more about how many led's can they put into their case before their 9 fans can't cool it anymore. And i'm not saying that you shouldn't mod your xbox, because I have, I am just stating my opinion on the matter.

Thats all I would have to say about MS and Sega, is the nice Windows CE logo on the front of the DC.

As for Nintendo, their system isnt the problem. Quite frankly, its all between the developers and the press. Nintendo doesnt make gaming system for kids. So what, the game has a nice "E for Everyone" mark on it. Does that mean its a kiddie game? Hell no. One look at some of the nice games on the GC and you would know the powers of the system. Its us, the media, and fanboys even that make the GC seem like this kiddie toy.  The part about Third Parties is this. If a developer wanted online on GC, they would do it. Its no different then on PS2 really, it goes out over the internet and you play with other people. Nintendo released the BB adapter, its the developers that never used it. So what if the creater of Mario didnt want online (which is how it should be), it doesnt stop anyone else from using it.

I play games for one reason, to be entertained. I can be entertained by shiny graphics or well mixed sound effects, or I can be entertained by having the crap scared out of me, or by playing something that is simple and fun.

In my oppinion when everything is taken into account, the gamecube is the best system of the three current consoles. The gamecube is more capable and powerfull then the ps2, and almost equal with the xbox. Sure there are some great games out for both xbox and ps2, but the games that I have spent the most time playing, and had the most fun, are all on the gamecube.

I have purchased over 30 games for the gamecube, and I have enjoyed everyone of them more then any game that I have played on xbox or ps2.

I have modded my xbox, but if it wasn't modded, there would be 10 games at the most that I would have actually purchased. And very few of those 10 games, are as fun as orclose to as fun as the games that I have purchased for my Gamecube.

I think that Nintendo has learned from their mistakes this generation, and that their next system the 'Revolution', is going to be an awesome system. It will be the first sytem that I purchase, and I will have no regrets buying it. Even if most of the great games that come out on it are from Nintendo, it will be worth it, because those games will be some of the funnest games released next generation.

nintendo 64 was cool because it had great games and great graphics and 4 controller slots, compared to ps1. But nintendo is dead now in console business and will never come back! Xbox dominates!!!
