i hope sony and micro$oft put them out of business before they can release it.
they got these japanese guys making fatal marketing decisions. first with n64 not being cd because "everyone else is using cd, so we're going to be different" type of attitude.
then that same attitude built the nintendo gamecube, using a small ass dvd disc to prevent piracy, but guess what, NO ONLINE CAPABILITIES. WHY? "Because gamers aren't interested in online gaming." idiots.
if this truly is the real blueprint basis of the nintendo revolution, (cd/dvd drive and all) this should have been the nintendo gamecube. now nintendo has to catch up.

oh and the nintendo ds is getting shitted on by gamers everywhere. just check out 1up.com.

not to be biased but nintendo's choices and all that turned me off from their consoles and portable's a long time ago... i enjoyed their snes system the most and i'm sure most of us here grew up on it. (that and the genesis, although i've never owned a sega system in my life) but you guys have got to admit, nintendo is doing everything wrong.

heh, yeah Nintendo .. wtf?!
Why are they so concerned with making new hardware?  We're not sick of the GBA.  Not at all!  Look how long the N64 hung around.  It's that kind of arrogance we miss from nintendo.
Watch, next they'll release the virtual boy advance smile.gif

only thing I disagree with, dietrite, is that the NC doesn't have online capabilities.  Yes it does.  You can get a BBA for it.  It's just not "out of the box" online capabilities. smile.gif

Nintendo can't be put out of business when they have over 90% of the handheld market.

i think some of my earlier comments were exaggerated/extreme.

i didn't know the gamecube had online capabilities but at the same time haven't really heard of people playing online with the gc.

i seem to forget that nintendo is and always will be for the kids. but nintendo is trying to target it's older former audience through the nintendo ds.

the same kids that grew up on chrono trigger, and super mario are the ones that have left nintendo's products and moved on to pc gaming, xbox gaming and ps2 gaming. nintendo lost our business due to a combination of getting older/wanting different games. (what do you guys think about this thesis?)

no i don't own a ds, i'm waiting for the psp.

Nintendo is saying that they are going to revolutionize the industry with this next console. Although I whole heartedly support the next Xbox console, this seems to intrigue me. It just makes me think what could they be doing?

Well, out of all the games I've ever played, the only one's i've ever sat down and beaten have been nintento style platformers (mario, zelda, etc..). If only one Zelda game comes out for this console, it'll be worth the $200 to me.

I can spend a few hours on other games (Halo, Doom3, Spliter Cell..), but nothing can keep me interested for 40-60 hours like good ol' Nintendo.

I hope Nintendo and MS put Sony out of business. If they merged, they could make the ultimate system.  Sony has too many problems with their stuff. The new PS2 Slims are getting returned and repaired at a crazy rate. I expect the PSP and PS3 to do the same.

And to be honest, sometimes the GameCube can outshine the Xbox. It's a lot better system than it gets credit for. Just needs better games. Have you seen how awesome Resident Evil looks and plays?

I'm curious to see what is up and comming from all three of the big console makers(MS, Nintendo and Sony)
Nintendo has been on the overly consertive side for the last full size consoles it does make some sense. After the beating they took on the nightmare that was Virual Boy, it seemed like Nintendo wanted to take the safe and well traveled roads(watching what others did and failed at and avoided it). Sadly this overly conservitive path has left them pitching yesterday's system features while Sony and MS have moved forward. I think the DS may be a sign that Nintendo is begining to move forward again, with new and intresting ideas.

But in the end no matter how pritty the graphics and amazing the sound, it all boils down to good games. And all three of the big current consoles have gamed that have hooked me and I expect the same from the next generation.

And while the DS does play GBA games el_diablo, I was shocked that Nintendo removed native support of orginal Gameboy and Gameboy Color games(though you can play them on emulators writen for the GBA).

I agree, I'd love to see Nintendo and M$ take down Sony. Although M$ is the newest one to come to the video gaming scene, I believe they have already surpassed Sony by far. And only more to come in the future. And as for Nintendo, I'd really love to see them come back with something extrordinary, we know they can do it. After the mistakes they made in the recent past they now have the knowledge to come back to the scene strong. They just have to make it happen.

i also hope nitendo stick around, i love the ds, also the gc isnt that bad either, i have played many good games on it, xgra, pikmin, ssbm, i think nintendo revolution will be a big hit, especially since nintendo have started breaking the mold latley.  Also about MS surpassing sony, did you here the rumour that the xbox was actually created by sega and was bought by ms afetr sega went bust? this would explain alot of things, like how they can come into the market with the best system ever on their first attempt, also similarites between the xbox and dc, also sega's new arcades are just suped up xboxes

Yes it does make sense, but for some reason it seems way too far`fetched.
