Help W/ Armax Game Saves

I am new to the ARmax world.  I recently downloaded some saves from Stormsinger and they are awesome (thanks StormSinger).  But I have one problem.  On almost all the saves any place after the first T3 mission (opening the door to the mining tunnels) the droids kill me in like 2 hits.  Add to that I only hit them once out of every 10 swings for minimum damage.  I have tried it on all difficulties with all different weapon/armor combinations.  Is this normal?  Is there anyway to avoid this or is it just how the saves are designed?  Thanks in advance for any help for the new guy.
