Having Trouble With System Linking Halo

Hi, I can system link my box or my friends modded box (both of which have all three map packs) to a normal box individually that doesn't have any map packs fine but if we system link the map pack boxes, it says unable to join network connection lost.

Only thing I can think of that is doing it is that I used his hardchip modded xbox to upgrade my HD in my softmod and therefor we now have the same eeprom I believe. Could this be it and how would I fix it if it is?

well if you backed up your eeprom (which you should have) all you have to do is replace your current one with your backed up one.

but first..

i have no idea how to do that...

i have no idea if its safe...

but second..

its logical, isnt it? to think what i thought..

Yeh I backed up my eeprom but I need to know how to do it and if it will fix my issue

Ok I changed my eeprom back to the original successfully so now we don't have identical eeproms.

We still cannot connect with one another and it's not just with modded Halo. We can not system link our two modded xboxs for retail games either (we tried two retail Halo 2 copies). It says "unable to connect system link down" or something. I know it's not the cords, router, or hub because we've been system linking 3 other boxes (including my modded one) non stop since. Just our two modded ones can't link. PLEASE help.

are you using a crossover cable to connect them directly or are you using the same cables that you plugged in the router? you have to have a crossover to system link them directly and a striaght cable to go to the hub.
