My Hdd Hexeditor Freeze Up!

ok is this right

put halo in , load the map you want
then you restart your xbox , and look in x , z , or y and copy any cache
then ftp to your pc and open your hexeditor with it ,

i do that and my hexeditor freeze up???? whats wrong
