Well it's been months of work put into these two interfaces. This is a unbelievable set of maps separated by modded maps and new maps. As you have probably already seen, NMP is the new map project for maps that are new in most all regard. However this time NMP has gotten together with team CXE to bring you Custom Xbox tradition a game focused on "the best of the best of modded xbox maps (e.g. bloodgulch, damnation, sidewinder)
There is something particular special about this release though, not only is it the first joint release of pretty much anything modding related, but it has a very special program accompanying NMP/CXE called HMPi.
No longer will it take the inexperienced people hours to install interfaces. With an FTP connection and fresh copy of halo, anyone can quickly and easily install both NMP and CXE at the same time automatically!!!! If you were ever scared to get into the halo modding scene. Now's your chance to easily get some of the greatest mod on your xbox with a few buttons.
Both CXE and NMP are fully compatible with both xbox connect and xlink Kai. So you can enjoy playing maps without having to worry about version numbers of each map.
So lets get started. We have spent the last 16 hours trying to finish this project to bring this wonderful program to you during the weekend. We do hope you enjoy it and Happy Halo!!
AngryCamel:
We have not quite released yet, although this post is where it will be I believe. The three of us, Reddog, UM, and myself have been up for so many hours working on this I cannot count. I will tell you this; all of us saw the sun go down and the sun come up... then get hot. We have been awake for a very long time and we really wanted to get it out before we crashed but it just wasn't happening. UM became MIA, presumed fallen asleep at the keyboard. I was beta testing and I was presumed fallen asleep as well. Until I heard the jingle of AIM messages flooding my screen. It was Reddog throwing in the towel. We are going to try to get it back on track after some well deserved rest and hopefully have it up and running for everyone to download by tonight. We are not quite there yet, just so everyone understands. There are a few random issues and from my beta test just now, it seems that some of the maps are throwing the DDE, so we will need to track those down as well. Wish us luck and keep an eye out this evening.
here is a pic of the install:

I'll bring up the rear end with some quick instructions in remembrance of the outdated NMP 1.1 "installer"...
You were expecting a crazy long tutorial on how to install the newest Halo NMP/CXE combo pack weren't you? Instead follow these easy instructions.
Prep:
1) Make sure you either have a fresh copy of the NTSC version of Halo on your XBOX, or you have the default.xbe.bac and ui.map.bac on your XBOX (some NMP 1.1 installations created these files).
2) Connect your XBOX to your computer and make sure that you have ftp access to it. Write down your IP address and the path where you installed Halo.
3) Download installation kit (blablabla.rar) and unrar it.
Installation (here comes the hard part):
1) Run setup.exe from the kit.
2) Click "Continue" (are you scared yet).
3) Enter your connection information and Halo location gathered above.
4) Hit "Start" and watch the action -- the installation takes between 3 and 30 minutes depending on your computer.
Enjoy my friends...
As always -- peace,
Reddog
