Release of CXE1 and NMP2 in the same package....

http://www.angrycamel.com/xbox/NMP2-CXE1_With-HMPi_Final.rar

Edit Ultra:
Both cathedral and Hostile/ Hanger  are fixed in this version of the upload.
The download will be inaccessable from 3:30-4:00 EST So you dont need the patch anymore, this download is all you need

Here is an install tutorial for those who need it...
http://www.angrycamel.com/xbox/tutorials/C...ll-tutorial.htm

UltraMagnus:

Well it's been months of work put into these two interfaces. This is a unbelievable set of maps separated by modded maps and new maps. As you have probably already seen, NMP is the new map project for maps that are new in most all regard. However this time NMP has gotten together with team CXE to bring you Custom Xbox tradition a game focused on "the best of the best of modded xbox maps (e.g. bloodgulch, damnation, sidewinder)

There is something particular special about this release though, not only is it the first joint release of pretty much anything modding related, but it has a very special program accompanying NMP/CXE called HMPi.

No longer will it take the inexperienced people hours to install interfaces. With an FTP connection and fresh copy of halo, anyone can quickly and easily install both NMP and CXE at the same time automatically!!!! If you were ever scared to get into the halo modding scene. Now's your chance to easily get some of the greatest mod on your xbox with a few buttons.

Both CXE and NMP are fully compatible with both xbox connect and xlink Kai. So you can enjoy playing maps without having to worry about version numbers of each map.

So lets get started. We have spent the last 16 hours trying to finish this project to bring this wonderful program to you during the weekend. We do hope you enjoy it and Happy Halo!!

AngryCamel:

We have not quite released yet, although this post is where it will be I believe. The three of us, Reddog, UM, and myself have been up for so many hours working on this I cannot count. I will tell you this; all of us saw the sun go down and the sun come up... then get hot. We have been awake for a very long time and we really wanted to get it out before we crashed but it just wasn't happening. UM became MIA, presumed fallen asleep at the keyboard. I was beta testing and I was presumed fallen asleep as well. Until I heard the jingle of AIM messages flooding my screen. It was Reddog throwing in the towel. We are going to try to get it back on track after some well deserved rest and hopefully have it up and running for everyone to download by tonight. We are not quite there yet, just so everyone understands. There are a few random issues and from my beta test just now, it seems that some of the maps are throwing the DDE, so we will need to track those down as well. Wish us luck and keep an eye out this evening.
here is a pic of the install:

Later,

AngryCamel
Team CXE (Speaking for: Team NMP)

Reddog:
I'll bring up the rear end with some quick instructions in remembrance of the outdated NMP 1.1 "installer"...

You were expecting a crazy long tutorial on how to install the newest Halo NMP/CXE combo pack weren't you? Instead follow these easy instructions.

Prep:
1) Make sure you either have a fresh copy of the NTSC version of Halo on your XBOX, or you have the default.xbe.bac and ui.map.bac on your XBOX (some NMP 1.1 installations created these files).
2) Connect your XBOX to your computer and make sure that you have ftp access to it. Write down your IP address and the path where you installed Halo.
3) Download installation kit (blablabla.rar) and unrar it.

Installation (here comes the hard part):
1) Run setup.exe from the kit.
2) Click "Continue" (are you scared yet).
3) Enter your connection information and Halo location gathered above.
4) Hit "Start" and watch the action -- the installation takes between 3 and 30 minutes depending on your computer.

Enjoy my friends...

As always -- peace,
Reddog

read the FAq and installed it.
Now when i try to play any map i get Loading level.....
then it freezes.
Install notes:
I had the NMP 1.1 installed and i tried to install over it.
But i had a folder called NMP that had all the NMP maps and a folder called maps.
The folder called maps had ui.map thats it. So i deleted it b/c HMPi couldnt find the maps.
Also I deleted HaloNMP.xbe. Now i have to go though the Halo NMP menu to get though the Halo NMP 2 menu. Any help is appreciated.
The install process was awesome. Cant wait to c more work.

Maybe you should just start out fresh.  All you need to have in your Halo folder is the default.xbe and maps folder with at least 13 mp maps and one ui.map.  You can also have the sp maps in there if you wish.

Since you said that you only had the ui.map in the one folder that sounds like where you are getting the hang up.  With just a default.xbe and ui.map the game will load up to the menu but will lock (like you described) when you select a level...this is because it can't be found.

What exactly is the CXE Roster?  When I try to play a level from it, I get DDE.  Is it unfinished, or is it something on my end?

Thanks
Mike

The CXE Roster just lists the names of the members who worked on that map pack.  There is no level to play...the roster just rests where campaign used to be.

wut if i want to install it on my comp, then burn it to a DVD+RW, would i need to do the same as for NMP 1.1? and patch and compress all the map files? if soo, can u make a version of hmi, and have it posible to install onto your comps hard drive? i doubt i will have to time to patch all the cache files, and compress them just to make a dvd of nmp and cxe. also if so, can you please tell me the folder structure (wut folders are in the main HALO foler ie.(maps, default.xbe, ect.))

thank you

Does it replace all the originals, or can you still run the unmodded halo? Am i going to have to have 2 seperate folders, one with all the original and original xbe, and one for the new ones, or will it leave a normal one?

That is what I was going to do. Just backup Halo twice on my Xbox so I have a clean copy of the original on the hard drive and then a seperate copy with the modded maps.l

yeah, that sucks though, i wish they could make it to where it makes copies of just the files it uses and renames them something different and somehow make the XBE of the modded one launch those filenames instead of the normal filenames, so that the unmodded files wouldnt have to have 2 copies of and waste space.

There is no need to do that

Your Regular Halo will remain unchanged, and you can still play all regular halo maps, the only thing hat it changes is the icon at the bottom from game demos to New Maps.  It installs separate directories for NMP and CXE so you dont have to worry, you won't have any wasted space. It uses everything.
