Why would you do anything that could screw up the game without backing up the files? And why don't you have the disc? As far as I can tell, you deserve what happened.

Incase you didnt relize yet someone providing you with an XBE file would be very illegal and is frowned upon because it increases the chances of this site and its forums (thats us) of being shut down. But halos default xbe can be obtained from any copy of halo.

Also do back up and file you screw with. just copy and paste it very simple.
