I have seen a trainer that allows you to run the default.xbe from the HD, but load the rest from the dvd, so I know its possible, anyone know how?

It's pretty easy, the trainer you're talking about comes with 2 sets of patches (pal/ntsc). Just use the patch that has "CD" in the name and use whichever region you have. It comes with instructions. Just make sure that you disable "auto-launch games" in whatever dash you use, and just launch the xbe from the hdd, with the disc in the tray.

There's also some "no mount" option that let's you do this with Evox (with any game), but I don't really use that dash, so I wouldn't be the best person to ask.

I removed all the demos and replaced the XDemos.xbe with a renamed CDX.xbe (if anyone does pick it it will not crash the system but instead just reset back to halo)

Is that with the newer game of the year edition? Because it isn't neccesary if you have the original game. I just deleted the demos, and the option disappeared fom the title menu.
