ok I will be strait with you, RAM upgrades can be a very involved process.
1st) You need to assess if you have the skills to do it yourself. Open your xbox and look at the top of the mobo, you will see 2 14x12mm chips and two empt spots next to them. That is where the additional ram is placed (there are also spots on the underside of the board too). When you install ram every leg of each chip (100 ea chip for a total of 400 legs) needs to be making good contact with the pad and cannot make connection with any of its neighbors (this is called bridging when it does this).
2nd) Do you feel comfortable soldering these small components as described above (I assume you dont have a SMT rework station like myself)? If not don't attempt the upgrade yourself.
3rd) Do you currently have ram or have the money to purchase it?
4th) Do you have the patience to troubleshoot this upgrade? It can be very time consuming the FRAO or no audio/video.
5th) Do you have enough money to buy a replacement mob if you screw up the one you've got?
