Halo:dirty Or Damaged Disc
« on: January 27, 2004, 05:12:00 PM »

First off i don't know if this has been wrote about, the serch engine is down   .  Well ok i installed halo useing Dvd2Xbox then i had to delet it and i don't remember why :uhh: .  Well anyway I couldn't use DVD2xbox cause it kept freezing up on me, but i use PxHDDLoader and i can play Single player fine but when i play on "SPLIT SCREEN" i can only play on Sidewinder and Bloodgultch, and i can't play at all on System link.  Everytime i get the Error message "Your halo Disk is damaged or dirty....".  What is really wierd is the same thing happens with my chip off and disk in, which is bad for LAN party.  I believe it is something with the cache files but i'm not sure and would like to know what to do befor i get into it.

This may sound crazy, but it could work.  Clear your cache(all of it).  Then host a system link game, but don't start the map.  Then exit out to the main screen and try it again.

Well my one question then would be, is everything in the folder where the Cache003 and 004 are all halo stuff?

here is what you do to get rid of the dirty disk error

open a split screen game
get to the screen just before the game starts
then go back and open up system link

works every time

this is gonna sound retarded, especially since i didn't read all of your post, but if your talking about the same error i'm thinking, go make a 2 player game on any multiplayr level, stay in that game for a sec or 2 then everything should work again
