Does anyone know of a way to patch the default.xbe with a cheat for good?  I would much rather be able to select which default.xbe to run to choose a cheat for multiplayer than have to worry about having this cheat screen come up during a 16-player match and have everyone scramble to get it turned back to normal. I'm sure it is possible to do, but I don't know what or where you would have to patch the file to do it.

Any one who understands how the cheats work have an idea?

just so you know the trainer cheats wont function unless the other box has the same ones on
,,does work for a 4 box tho.
as for patching a cheat for good? i dunno,,
i know if you use the trainer editor and put one of the magnetism's on its always on,,you have to manually turn it off like youd turn the others on..
im trying to figure out how to change the button config for the trainer
but best bet would be just to put the default xbe back in if you dont wanna worry bout the trainer poppin up in a good game

Ya, I know that everyone has to have the same cheats on.  We've had some great 16-player games with cheats on.  My favorite was high jump, never die, all rockets infinite ammo on hang 'em high.  We did king of the hill.  The hill is always in the middle right up on a narrow strip.  You could jump right up to it, but people would blow you off with a rocket in just a few seconds.  You would have to jump back up on, but wouldn't die.  It was a blast.  I would like to do more like that, but it is a pain because someone always hits both thumbsticks by accident and that messes up everyone on that tv.  I have two different default.xbe's on my box which I can choose from evox.  That way I can start multiplayer without cheats to keep this from happening accidentaly.

The biggest problem as I see it is that the trainer likely patches a location in RAM to enable the cheats.  We would have to patch a location for the default amount of energy or whatever in the default.xbe itself instead of patching the place in memory at runtime like the trainer does.  At least that's how I imagine it to work.  I don't know how to do this however.
