hey, i have been looking around the files in the Udata, and found a file called "SaveMeta.xbx" this says the name of the profile. when i changed this, and added it back to my xbox, nothing happened.... anyone have any ideas on something that i could do to get this to work?

P.S. i looked in the other files too, but ofund nothing.

ive figured out how to put symbols in the name and stuff, but it wont show the symbol in game, like when someone's aiming reticle is over you. It will only show the code for the symbol...is there any way to get the game to interpret the code and show the symbol and not the code? (i used %zoom)

yea same here only saw it when selecting the profile

pimp¥ you need to edit the blam.sav
I think the other file is used for the dashboard to show the save name

yah, i opened the blam.sav, but found all code.. tryed openin it with a hex, but it didnt work.

ill look at it a little more

pimpy ur name in unicode (what halo uses as far as i know) is:

2D003D007B00500031005B004D005D007000A5007D003D002D00

(i took out the ~ cuz i thought maybe it might be up top)

alright guys, i got the name to appear in the game's profile selection it appears as
-~={^P1[M]p¥^}=~-

but when i select the game, it says "Unable to load saves game file. Press A to continue."

i have been trying everything..... ¿Any suggestions?

my thought is that MetaSave.xbx says what the name is, then finds the corresponding Blam.sav, if u only change the metasave or change both but change the # of chars, itll fuck up because itll read the blam wrong.

soooooooooooooooooo
make a profile with # of desired chars
edit in winhex (both blam and metasave)
transfer back

holla if this works

no, it didnt work.... i think i need to resign the file..mabye? now when i put the origional name back, it still dosent work.

nah count doesnt matter,
had a profile called Wim
only changed the blam.sav
edited it to %x-button (or just %button)
resigned it and it works perfectly

[edit] btw MetaSave.xbx is only used by MS Dash, how else does it know the save name?
it's not gonna know each save format and check that

so they use MetaSave.xbx to have a common save name for the dashboard
