Try using a different app...Also, make sure IGR is off. Some games don't work with it on, i.e. The Matrix. One question: do you get sound and no video, or nothing at all?

Are you sure all IGR controls are off? There are 3 of them I think. My buddy had the same problem with The Matrix because one of the three IGR controls was on.

did i also mention that the xbox cd tray only rumbles with halo cd in there isn't that funny
i mean this bitach shakes and makes loud noises

are you sure you dont have a problem in your cache, try finding your cache and deleting it then try booting

the xbox is even having problem noticing the game sometime it will say its a game then some times it says it unknown and sometimes it says no disc

Well I say wait to Halo 2 comes out and pick that up...if you can't wait that long, which I couldn't go buy a new Halo.

If it is only Halo, I don't know how much good a bios update will do. You could try it but I don't think it's gonna work. Some games just get old and useless. The same thing happened to my buddy's Halo a few months ago. It still looked like it was in good shape but the drive just wouldn't read it anymore. Sometimes it wouldn't even be able to realize it was in the drive. Good luck and I hope you don't have to shell out some money for a new one.

ok its is definatly the bios or the kernel version because i just switch the cd drive from my stock xbox to the modded one and it is still not workin and this cd drive work with halo on my other xbox.
