Goin' on what weeman was saying, mine has a Phillips drive with a WD HDD in it. As soon as I swapped out the HDD, the noise went away. I'm not sure if it's the HDD but the noise went down significantly. Planning on lighting the box up and doin an 80mm fan upgrade.

And theres no noise problem, my friends older version xbox is a lot louder then my halo one. The only noise I can hear is the hum of the fan.

date on mine is 2004-02-13

serial ends in 40705

and anyone else notice that they are numbered?

mine is number 75145

it does not say out of 200,000 but i think that is what that number is

and mine has a philly drive but i actually like it better than the sammy in my other box because it has read every burned movie i have put into it both + and - formats and it has read all of my burned cdrs havnt tried cdrw yet

I just tried a burned imation CD-R on a Philips drive that came with my Halo LE edition X-Box. It works like a charm. I was bit sorry that I got the Philps drive in the beginning but now I am totally happy. I hopw this is a new trend for Philips drive.

To all of you who did the TSOP flash... Did it work out for you?  I know that this perhaps belongs in the n00b forum, but could you link me to the version 1.4/1.5 solder points for the TSOP?  Thanks.
