Tutorial to put Vehicles in all Multiplayer Levels

Step 0: First of all, you'll need to use the same methods of transfering files to and from your Xbox as the offset modifying method. You'll just be editing a different set of data. Step 1:   First, you will need to look in the appropriate output file for the level you want. In it, find a piece of scenery that you wish to change into a vehicle. (You can do this by searching for 'scen'.) After finding an appropriate piece, look at the identifier for that object. For example, on Hang 'em High, we'll use the flag bases. The flag base's identifier is:0xE18A0016
Step 2:   Now, we take the values after the 0x and reverse them in pairs, seperating every second character. This will give you this new value:16 00 8A E1This is the new identifier for the scenery, in editor-friendly format.
Step 3:   Now, search the map file for the above value. When you locate it, it should be the rightmost set of values. This should be the complete line:025BE810: 6E 65 63 73 | D0 35 3B 80 | 00 00 00 00 | 16 00 8A E1Now, we'll term the first set of values after the colon as the "class", and the rightmost values the "identifier".
Step 4:   Okay, we'll be changing the value of the identifier to the identifier of the vehicle you want.So, we look up ghosts in the output file and find that it's identifier is:0xE6FA0586Now, reversing this value in pairs, we get:86 05 FA E6
Step 5:   Now, we change the identifier in the line to the new identifier of the ghost. This will give us this complete line:025BE810: 6E 65 63 73 | D0 35 3B 80 | 00 00 00 00 | 86 05 FA E6
Step 6:   Finally, we need to change 'scen' (for scenery) to 'vehi' (for vehicles). Unfortunately, they're written backwards and written in hex. So, I'll just give you the new value straight out...6E 65 63 73 becomes 69 68 65 76
Step 7:   Now, save the map and transfer it to your Xbox and load it up. Great, now using this method, you can have vehicles on all multiplayer levels.

i wont work 4 me. in my hang them high file the bytes 6E 65 63 73 and 16 00 8A E1 are no where near eachother.

the only thing that i cant get going is how u switch the 'scen' to multi' as the tut said. making the hex backwards.

I've done 2 maps myself, hangumhigh and wizard, using his numbers for changing scen to vehi. And both maps worked with the same numbers. All maps must use the same numbers below that mean vehi. Just use them for all maps.

69 68 65 76

cool......I have tried all this but with no luck. I even tried the ghosts in hang em high patch....could someone please send me a patch of a level with vehicles, or anything that could help me at [email protected]. I also dont understand the identifiers in the tutorial posted at the top. the 0xE18A0016.
Im looking at BOLL's and it says something completely different for the flag bases under scenary in hang em high. Thanks

its for hang em high
added warthogs and ghosts and also changed the shaders of some weapons and the vehicles for the hell of it

Why the hell would someone make a tutorial for people, if they are just going to be lazy. Be thankful that somebody figured out how to insert vehicles in the first place.

maybe if u delete all cache files then load hang em high and reset then patch cache003.map it will work. sometimes when i try to do stuff it gets screwed up then i delete all caches and try again and it works. hope that works cause im all out of ideas

i cant wait for the day that some 1 in the know makes a cool Patche for halo in PAL format ive been looking on there and there is so much halo NSTC if i new how to put hogs in the other levels or even make them fly i would learn to make my own patch and put it on there for any1 else that has PAL version at this rate i might have to buy a second halo (in NSTC format) just so i can join in on the fun
